Job Summary
The GX Data Platforms Owner has a key role within the organization, reporting to the GX Platforms Manager. Their primary responsibility is to maintain platforms used to deliver data driven solutions, work with stakeholders to develop datasets & reporting, collaborate with various Data Center teams to integrate data solutions, as well as develop a strategic roadmap for these platforms and products to enhance the government experience. This role combines product ownership, design, and engineering. As a Data Platforms Owner, they evaluate business problems and processes, collect and analyze data, and deliver business intelligence through a variety of methods. They also work with engineering teams to develop integrated solutions. Success in this role requires a blend of technical and business skills and the ability to adapt to evolving needs. Product Owners need technical knowledge in areas like operating systems, system administration, security, virtualization, networking, infrastructure, databases, software development, and integration using APIs. They should also understand agency processes (work and data flows) to align solutions with daily operations.
Product Owners participate collaboratively on projects involving clients, vendors, consultants, and fellow teams for installations, upgrades, and transitions. They maintain clear and empathetic communication with clients and users, ensuring a supportive partnership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

For each assigned Platform under their management, the Data Analyst Platform Owner must (as applicable for products/platforms respectively):
· Build and maintain platform expertise, including upgrades or other changes through relevant training and applicable certifications
· Familiarize with existing solutions owned by partner agencies to understand their criticality, downstream impacts, and downtime tolerances.
· Collaborate with product stakeholders to create or refine data sets, build visualizations, obtain data from 3rd parties (via API calls or other methods)
· Build queries and datasets using a variety of query languages such as M Query, DAX, SQL, and PowerShell
· Evaluate business processes to gain business understanding for the purpose of developing business intelligence solutions that adds value
· Collaborate with product stakeholders to develop and execute a product roadmap and report the roadmap’s progression using clear and transparent, approved communication methods
· Maintain, prioritize, and implement the backlog of features/enhancements, user requests, user support requests (break/fix)
· Work with direct manager to develop a strategic roadmap for developing a County-branded Data Analytics hub
· Provide direct and indirect user support, including creating end-user documentation and conducting training sessions
· Collaborate with the help desk on end user support, enabling efficient first-contact incident resolution where possible and handling escalations
· Collaborate with vendors, partner Agencies, and FCDC teams, to resolve issues, implement new features or for assistance with user support
· Collaborate with FCDC engineering teams on server, network, security, and cloud systems design deployments and maintenance
· Collaborate with FCDC project management and client relations teams on major upgrade efforts, platform feedback, and communications
· Develop and maintain platform integrations via vendor-supplied APIs or other automated procedures or tools where needed and possible
· Drive system upgrades and manage maintenance while coordinating with users, third-party consultants, and the platform vendor
· Advocate for the needs and interests of users in discussions with platform vendors
· Assist FCDC asset management and procurement teams with monitoring platform licensing and usage, analyzing fit-for-purpose, utilization rates, and calculate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) periodically during each platform’s lifecycle and use these and other assessments to recommend changes, up to and including platform replacement
· Document on how the partner processes are integrated with platform functions using visual diagrams (using tools like Lucidchart) and clearly written verbal descriptions, recording them in the product’s knowledge base articles
· Collaborate with Partner Experience Managers to market the product with partners, promoting benefits and encouraging usage
· Where applicable, develop platform monitoring methods and post-patching / post-upgrade testing procedures to validate system efficacy
· Support period system regulatory compliance reviews and produces security and audit evidence as needed
· Complete all other duties as assigned
