Full-Time | Automotive Commercial & Fleet Sales

We are seeking a motivated, organized, and relationship-driven Fleet Salesperson / Commercial Account Manager (CAM) to develop and manage commercial, fleet, and government accounts. This position is ideal for a sales professional who enjoys business development, building long-term client relationships, negotiating deals, and identifying new revenue opportunities.
The Commercial Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, managing the sales process from prospecting and bidding through vehicle ordering, delivery, and post-sale follow-up. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple accounts and transactions while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Automotive, commercial, fleet, or B2B sales experience is preferred. Candidates with strong sales, communication, and relationship-building skills who are willing to learn the fleet business are encouraged to apply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Account Management
- Prospect and develop new commercial, fleet, and government accounts through networking, cold outreach, referrals, and relationship building.
- Build and maintain relationships with business owners, procurement officers, government agencies, municipalities, utilities, and fleet operators.
- Maintain consistent communication with existing customers to encourage retention, repeat business, and account growth.
- Track prospecting activities, customer interactions, and sales opportunities in the CRM.
Fleet Sales, Bids & Negotiations
- Prepare, submit, and manage bids, requests for proposals (RFPs), and requests for quotations (RFQs).
- Identify customer vehicle specifications, commercial applications, and upfit requirements.
- Coordinate pricing, incentives, and bid approvals with fleet sales leadership.
- Develop solutions that meet each customer's vehicle, budget, and operational needs.
- Work toward monthly and annual fleet sales, gross profit, and new-account acquisition goals.
Order Management & Vehicle Delivery
- Manage fleet orders from the initial quote through final delivery.
- Coordinate vehicle sourcing, inventory allocation, and order placement with the new-vehicle department.
- Assist with locating vehicles when inventory is limited.
- Coordinate vehicle deliveries, customer orientations, and required documentation.
- Support local and national courtesy deliveries by coordinating vehicle specifications and delivery arrangements.
Operations & Customer Retention
- Monitor deal status, funding timelines, and payment collection for commercial transactions.
- Follow up with customers, leasing companies, and financial institutions to help ensure timely payment.
- Provide accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts for fleet orders and deliveries.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Identify opportunities for ongoing service, parts, and vehicle lifecycle support.
- Stay informed about commercial vehicle applications, manufacturer fleet programs, and industry trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Automotive, commercial, fleet, or B2B sales experience preferred.
- Experience with prospecting, account management, customer retention, or business development is a plus.
- Familiarity with government purchasing, fleet operations, bids, RFPs, or RFQs is beneficial; willingness to learn is important.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple customers, orders, deadlines, and transactions simultaneously.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and maintaining accurate sales records.
- Basic understanding of pricing, financial concepts, and deal management.
- Self-motivated, accountable, professional, and results-driven.
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales leadership and other dealership departments.
