Job description

FT Front End Assistant Manager

Full Time Hourly – $ 19.30 - $20.00 per hour

depending on qualifications and experience

Must be at least 18 years and older

Position Description:

With limited supervision, the assistant manager is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the Front End department

Your day-to-day:

Oversee all Front End Supervisor functions

Be ready to assist cashiers with any technical problems with the registers

Be ready to assist in any area of the Front End, including customer service

Coordinate special events for customers throughout the year

Attend department BASH, Strategy, and Managers Meeting

Assist in hiring, promoting, and training team members

Provide timely feedback by completing and delivering comprehensive 90 day and mid-year Performance Chats

Prepare or provide feedback to department manager for Annual Performance Appraisals

Delivery Annual Performance Appraisals to cashier trainers, cashiers, and baggers (if applicable)

Create schedules and enter them into HRIS system for team members to access at least 2 weeks in advance

Prepare revised cashier schedules for holidays to ensure coverage is in line with expected sales volume

Ensure team member time cards are accurate for weekly payroll processing

Conduct and/or actively participate in monthly department communication meetings, including customer service, money room, parties, and training

Address disciplinary issues in a timely fashion

Ensure compliance with all employment laws

Ensure the department is in compliance with all health codes, sanitation and safety regulations

Ensure representation is present at all monthly Safety Committee Meetings

Conduct/oversee daily/periodic department cleaning

Any other projects, as needed

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years’ experience

Able to operate a cash register

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent computer skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, the HRIS system, item maintenance system, and STCR for registers

Excellent communications skills, both written and oral

Above average organizational skills

The ability to delegate tasks and give clear directions

The ability to multi-task
