Job description

Overview

We are seeking an HR Director to build and lead the human resources function across all three branches of our home health and hospice organization.

You will develop HR systems, establish consistent standards, and help shape how we hire, retain, and develop employees. This role offers a direct voice in leadership decisions and responsibility for results.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead recruiting across all branches, including sourcing, interviews, job boards, and vendors.
  • Manage employee relations, investigations, corrective action, and separations.
  • Develop HR policies and maintain a consistent employee handbook across locations.
  • Ensure federal, California, and San Francisco employment compliance, including wage and hour, leave, accommodations, and pay transparency.
  • Oversee license verification, exclusion screening, background checks, training, and survey-ready personnel records.
  • Manage onboarding and benefits administration.
  • Lead workforce planning, retention strategies, and HR and recruiting budgets.

What You’ll Need

  • At least 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including responsibility for employee relations and compliance.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting, recruiting budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Working knowledge of California and federal employment laws.
  • Experience conducting and documenting workplace investigations.
  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation, or another reliable way to travel between branches.
