Millcreek Metals, part of Metro Group, Inc., serves southeastern Idaho with metal recycling services built on quality and integrity. We're looking for a General Manager who enjoys working with people, takes pride in a well-run operation, and knows how to turn goals into daily action.
At our Blackfoot yard, you'll lead 15–20 employees and oversee the entire facility, including ferrous and non-ferrous operations, processing, transportation, and administration. You'll set the tone for safety and WOW customer service while helping your team meet production goals and improve how the yard operates.
What You Will Do
- Lead daily yard operations and make decisions that align with company guidelines and monthly and annual performance goals.
- Hire, supervise, and develop employees across all departments. Set clear expectations, assign work, and train new team members.
- Build a strong safety culture and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.
- Coach your team to provide WOW customer service and resolve concerns with professionalism and integrity.
- Develop and implement growth strategies for the Blackfoot location.
- Coordinate transportation schedules and work across departments to keep material moving.
- Schedule preventive maintenance and repairs to keep company equipment ready for use.
- Measure performance, improve processes and equipment effectiveness, and meet targets for processing volume, material recovery, and quality.
- Manage administrative responsibilities, including accurate reporting, timecard approvals, and submission to payroll.
- Address employee conflicts fairly and constructively, and help your team work together effectively.
What You Bring
- Required leadership experience in scrap yard or warehouse operations.
- Transportation scheduling experience.
- The ability to lead and motivate employees, communicate clear expectations, and resolve disagreements.
- Heavy equipment operating experience with equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators, and forklifts.
- Accuracy and attention to detail in reporting and paperwork.
- A four-year bachelor's degree preferred.
- Scrap metal industry knowledge is a strong plus. Three or more years of ferrous and non-ferrous recycling experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, and climbing or balancing.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
