GIS Analyst / GIS Application Developer
Job description
Stafford Gray is looking for an experienced GIS Analyst with strong development skills to support several complex spatial applications for a public-sector client focused on environmental and natural resource programs. You'll maintain and improve existing web, client/server, and mobile GIS applications. You'll also advise developers on spatial design and work with project managers to keep quality, milestones, and deadlines on track.
This is a hands-on technical role. You'll do spatial analysis and basemap work, and you'll also write SQL, build ArcGIS Online and Portal apps, and work in a .NET and JavaScript codebase.
What you'll do
- Maintain and enhance existing GIS applications across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
- Build and manage ArcGIS Online and Portal content, including Experience Builder apps and Dashboards.
- Create basemaps, generate tile caches, and perform imagery analysis.
- Write and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SSIS packages; manage spatial databases, validate data, and keep metadata current.
- Plan and carry out unit, system, regression, and automated testing.
- Give developers technical guidance on spatial data needs, and serve as a liaison to business stakeholders and outside consultants.
- Assess new technology and recommend solutions to recurring problems.
Requirements
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in GIS, cartography, CADD, or a related field.
- 4+ years developing user interfaces, menus, and macro-level commands, along with complex spatial analysis and customer-driven reporting.
- 4+ years of ArcGIS Online and Portal experience, including Experience Builder and Dashboards.
- 4+ years creating or maintaining geospatial basemaps, including tile caches and imagery analysis.
- 4+ years of advanced SQL: scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, SSIS packages, spatial database maintenance, and metadata management.
- 4+ years of unit, system, regression, and automated testing.
- 2+ years with C#.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, XML, AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, T-SQL, and TypeScript.
- Power Apps experience.
- 1+ year of working knowledge of ADA/accessibility compliance.
- A bachelor's degree. Foreign degrees are accepted if evaluated as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree.
Preferred qualifications
- 1+ year with Azure DevOps, Git, Helix, and MS Office.
- 1+ year with Angular.
Location requirement: Candidates must live within 90 miles of Lansing, MI (48933) at the time of submission.
