Summary

The Senior Analyst position is responsible for managing freight forwarding operations across ocean, air, inland transportation, and warehouse/distribution services; maintaining customer relationships and service performance; supporting operational reporting and process coordination; and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and special projects. The role serves as a key operational liaison between customers, carriers, vendors, warehouses, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective logistics execution. Success in this role requires strong freight forwarding knowledge, import/export coordination skills, analytical reporting capabilities, customer service excellence, and effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage day-to-day freight forwarding activities for ocean import, ocean export, air import, and air export shipments to ensure timely and accurate execution.

Arrange and oversee inland transportation services, including drayage, trucking, and intermodal movements, to support end-to-end supply chain operations.

Coordinate warehouse, distribution, and value-added logistics services to meet customer requirements and service commitments.

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, responding to inquiries, resolving shipment issues, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Communicate and coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, transportation providers, and internal departments to ensure seamless shipment execution.

Monitor shipment status, identify operational exceptions, and implement corrective actions to minimize service disruptions and delays.

Ensure shipping documentation, shipment records, and operational activities comply with applicable company procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Maintain and update transportation management systems, freight forwarding platforms, and operational databases with accurate shipment and customer information.

Prepare, analyze, and distribute operational reports, performance metrics, shipment summaries, and other business information for management review.

Track key operational performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.

Support onboarding and implementation activities for new customers, services, or operational requirements within the West Region.

Provide operational expertise and logistics support for cross-functional initiatives and regional business objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

Assist in developing and documenting standard operating procedures and workflow improvements that support operational consistency.

Participate in special projects, audits, system testing, and other assignments as directed by management.

Support training and knowledge sharing activities for less experienced team members when requested.

Compensation Range

$58,607 - $63,934 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Skills

Knowledge of international freight forwarding processes, including ocean and air import/export operations.

Knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and distribution logistics.

Understanding of shipping documentation and international trade procedures.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS). ERP systems, and operational databases

Ability to analyze operational data and prepare management reports

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and related business applications.

Knowledge of customs clearance processes and international trade compliance requirements

Knowledge of carrier management and transportation service procurement practices

Education & Experience

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

3 years of Transportation, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

5+ years of Freight Forwarding, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain Management experience
