Job Summary
Ovation Holdings is a growing industrial services platform that repairs, services and supplies valves, pumps and instrumentation for power, refining, chemical and industrial customers across the U.S. We're seeking an HR Business Partner to join our HR Shared Services team in Joliet, IL. You'll support Ovations companies, partnering with their general managers and site leaders on hiring, employee relations, onboarding, performance and compliance. You'll also help build consistent, scalable HR processes across the platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable on the shop floor and in the office. Some travel to supported locations is required.
Responsibilities
- Business Partnership: Serve as the primary HR contact for leaders and employees at Ovations companies, advising on people decisions, workforce planning and organizational needs.
- Shared Services Delivery: Deliver HR services consistently across all supported companies, and help standardize policies, processes and practices across the platform.
- Employee Relations: Investigate and resolve employee concerns, coach managers on performance and discipline, and keep documentation accurate and consistent.
- Onboarding and Retention: Lead new hire onboarding and help drive retention and engagement, especially for technician and shop roles.
- Performance and Development: Support performance reviews, goal setting, and training and development programs.
- Compensation and
- Support pay decisions, annual compensation reviews and benefits enrollment, and answer employee benefits questions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws across multiple states, and help maintain policies, handbooks and required postings.
- Acquisitions and Integration: Help integrate newly acquired companies into Ovation's HR processes, policies and systems.
- HR Systems and Reporting: Maintain employee data in UKG, and track and report on headcount, turnover and hiring metrics for each supported company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of HR generalist or HR business partner experience.
- Experience supporting multiple sites or business units, ideally in a shared services or multi-company environment.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial services, skilled trades or field service employees strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, including multi-state compliance.
- Experience with an HRIS. UKG is a plus.
- Strong employee relations and investigation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust with employees and leaders at every level.
- Organized, discreet and able to manage competing priorities across several companies.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR certification preferred.
- Ability to travel to supported locations as needed.
