HR Generalist -Workers Compensation
Job description
The HR Generalist, Workers’ Compensation supports Centerline’s national safety and workers’ compensation function, reporting to the Director of Safety Operations. This role spends the majority of its time managing workers’ compensation claims — from intake through resolution — partnering with carriers, third-party administrators, and field leadership to ensure injured employees are supported and claims are resolved accurately and cost-effectively.
This is a remote position supporting a distributed, multi-state field workforce, working closely with the Director of Safety Operations and the Manager of EHS team.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the day-to-day administration of workers' compensation claims, including intake, documentation, and coordination with carriers and third-party administrators (TPAs).
- Track claim status, reserves, and timelines, following up proactively to keep claims moving toward resolution.
- Apply working knowledge of workers' compensation codes and classifications to ensure claims are coded, filed, and reported correctly.
- Support return-to-work and light-duty programs, coordinating with managers and injured employees on accommodations and timelines.
- Maintain accurate claims records and documentation in compliance with state-specific requirements.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers with questions about an open claim.
- Provide broader HR generalist support to the Safety/EHS function, including policy questions, documentation, and employee relations support related to safety or injury situations.
- Ensure workers' compensation claims and related documentation comply with federal, state, and local regulations across all states of operation.
- Partner with HR, Legal, and Risk Management on workers' compensation-related matters.
- Collaborate with field leadership and the Manager of EHS team to support injured employees and track claim-related accommodations.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation claims administration
- 3-5 years HR generalist work
- Experience working with workers' compensation carriers or third-party administrators preferred.
- Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or similar certification is a plus.
- Experience supporting a distributed, multi-state field workforce.
- Experience in construction, telecommunications, utility, or other field-based industries.
The anticipated base salary range for this remote position is $70,000 – $85,000 annually. Actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location, and may vary accordingly. This range reflects a good-faith estimate at the time of posting and is provided in compliance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws for remote positions in jurisdictions where such disclosure is required.
