About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Insurance Customer Service Specialist to support the daily customer service and administrative operations of an independent insurance agency.
In this role, you will assist customers with billing inquiries, payments, policy documentation, renewals, claims intake, and general insurance service requests.
You will communicate with customers and insurance carriers, maintain accurate records, follow up on pending requests, and ensure that customer needs are addressed professionally and efficiently.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong customer service, communication, and administrative skills who enjoys helping people, staying organized, and managing multiple responsibilities.
Previous insurance experience is a plus but is not required. No insurance license is needed for this position.
What You'll Do
Customer Service & Communication
- Answer incoming customer calls and emails professionally.
- Assist customers with general insurance service questions.
- Provide support with billing inquiries, payments, and policy documents.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers.
- Ensure customer requests receive timely and reliable follow-up.
Policy Administration & Documentation
- Gather information needed for policy changes and renewals.
- Assist with preparing and providing routine insurance documents, including:
Insurance ID cards
- Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
- Loss runs
- Other routine policy documents
Maintain accurate customer and policy records.
Document customer requests and relevant service activities.
Follow up on missing information and outstanding documentation.
Insurance Carrier Coordination
- Communicate with insurance carriers regarding pending service requests.
- Follow up on outstanding policy-related matters.
- Assist with claims intake and carrier communication.
- Track pending requests and ensure appropriate follow-through.
- Help coordinate information between customers, carriers, and internal team members.
Policy Follow-Up & Service Support
- Follow up on policy cancellations, underwriting requests, and missing information.
- Help ensure routine administrative requests are completed accurately.
- Maintain organized records of customer and carrier interactions.
- Refer coverage questions and insurance recommendations to appropriately licensed team members.
- Support the insurance service team with daily administrative activities.
