Facilities Management is looking to fill a Interior Designer - Intermittent - Not to Exceed 1-year with possible extension. As the Interior Designer you will be responsible for planning, implementation and operational management of a complete Interior Design Program at the Phoenix VA Healthcare system. This required planning and coordinating the activities of other individuals, commercial vendors and to serve as liaison.

Requirements

Following a tentative offer, applicants should be prepared to complete required steps, such as fingerprinting and background check, credentialing, and medical examination within 3 days of the offer. Clear and Timely Communication: Applicants will receive clear communication at key milestones, including referral, tentative offer, and onboarding instructions. After meeting pre-employment requirements, candidates will receive a final job offer and start date. Onboarding tasks may continue after starting, with HR ensuring timely completion for a smooth transition into VA service. If selected, applicants should be prepared to come onboard within 30 days of the announcement closing. Duties of the position include but are not limited to: Providing complete, from concept to installation, interior design services for the organization to include satellite facilities. Planning, consulting, advising, doing specification, and designing for virtually all spaces involved in new construction and/or renovation; reviews Architect/Engineer submittals for compliance with VA regulations and facility design criteria. Acting as a technical representative for design and finish specifications matters. Developing and maintaining a schedule of short and long range interior-improvement projects for the facility through the 5-year interior design plan and other programs to identify existing and future project needs. Representing the facility at various design-trade functions and maintains an effective rapport with design-industry vendors and/or representatives. Responding to Requests, complaints, etc. related to interior design and moves. Advising the supervisor of suitable responses to deficiencies in design functions where applicable.
