IT Specialist (INFOSEC)

About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is open to internal applicants who are current Army Cyber Command employees only and is located at the Regional Network Center in Fort Belvoir, VA.

Develop and enforce procedures, policies, and regulations for the protection of Communications Security equipment, materials, and aids.

Develop communications security operating procedures to verify the accuracy and adequacy of the internal accounting process for all communications security systems in use.

Perform risk analysis of threats and vulnerabilities to the information systems protection function and taking mitigating actions, which provide acceptable alternatives to security methods.

Maintain an accurate and efficient system accounting for and controlling Communication Security (COMSEC) hand receipt holders.

Ensure any modifications of COMSEC equipment are done only as authorized and in accordance with prescribed Department of the Army instructions.

Maintain statistical data records and prepares a variety of recurring and special reports for accountable COMSEC material.
