Lead Project Engineer- Customer Liason
Job description
The HTF7000 Project Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Engineer to serve as the engineering Customer Liaison for a business‑jet engine program. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the primary contact for OEMs, Customer Business Teams, and Customer Excellence organizations, delivering fast and reliable technical support for the engines that power their aircraft. You’ll lead Technical Interchange Meetings, champion critical design‑change activity, and connect OEM needs with the right engineering expertise. You’ll keep programs moving by communicating key issues such as SRDs and guiding customer‑specific initiatives. This is a high‑visibility opportunity to strengthen OEM partnerships, streamline aircraft‑engine integration, and help shape the future of HTF7000 propulsion.
- Manage technical communications and coordination meetings with OEM customers.
- Deliver clear technical recommendations to executive leadership and customers and support formal program reviews.
- Plan, schedule, and execute development and sustainment projects to meet scope, schedule, and cost targets.
- Provide day-to-day leadership of cross‑functional engineering teams through design, analysis, test, certification, and production.
- Collaborate with aircraft OEMs to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and maintain alignment with program objectives.
- Drive root‑cause investigations and implement timely corrective actions for production and field issues.
- Identify program risks and opportunities and lead mitigation strategies to improve technical, schedule, or cost outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Minimum 8 years of experience in design, development and/or test of gas turbine engines, nacelle systems, engine control systems or other complex mechanical systems
- Proficiency in project management tools and methods (e.g. Microsoft Project, Agile Scrum/Kanban, Earned Value Management System)
