YOUR OPPORTUNITY: LENDING OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
The Loan Operations Specialist provides operational support to the Commercial, Correspondent, Agricultural, and Retail lending teams through the management of the note teller desk and loan servicing functions. This role serves as a key resource for lenders, employees, and customers by maintaining loan records, processing transactions, ensuring accuracy, and supporting day-to-day loan operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Loan Boarding & Servicing
- Board new loans, renewals, participations, letters of credit, and loan modifications through the appropriate banking systems.
- Maintain accurate loan records and ensure timely processing of loan-related transactions.
- Process rejected loan payments and resolve related issues.
- Cross-check index rate changes and loan maintenance updates for accuracy.
Customer & Lender Support
- Assist Commercial, Correspondent, Agricultural, and Retail customers with loan payments, fund advances, account inquiries, and servicing requests.
- Answer questions from lenders, personal bankers, and customers regarding loan payments, payoffs, balances, and account concerns.
- Provide operational and system support to internal partners across the organization.
- Assist with incoming phone calls.
Operational Controls & Reconciliation
- Balance daily work, online dollar input, and general ledger accounts.
- Review assigned FDICIA reports and support internal control processes.
- Verify the accuracy of transactions and maintain compliance with established procedures.
- Support the overall integrity and efficiency of loan operations.
Documentation & Process Administration
- Manage vendor charges and the filing of loan documents and notes.
- Mail required notices and correspondence to customers.
- Maintain organized and accurate loan documentation.
Team Support & Backup Responsibilities
- Submit monthly SBA reports.
- Assist with departmental workflow and operational needs.
- Serve as backup for Mortgage Servicing functions.
- Provide backup support for collateral filing and release processing.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Previous banking, loan operations, lending support, or financial services experience preferred.
- Experience working with loan documentation, servicing, or transaction processing is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate multiple banking systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to accurately process transactions and maintain detailed records.
- Understanding of loan servicing processes and general ledger balancing preferred.
Communication & Organization
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently while meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
HOURS:
Regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
