Job description

MANTECH seeks a mission-focused Manager, Cybersecurity Threat Analysis Subject Matter Expert to support the 630th Cyberspace Squadron (630 CYS), Space Launch Delta 30. Located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.

On-site at Vandenberg SFB, CA, this position provides senior technical and management leadership across cyber threat analysis, intelligence integration, defensive cyberspace operations, and mission assurance for Western Launch and Test Range Systems (W-LTRS). Responsibilities span range safety, telemetry, tracking infrastructure, electrical distribution, and designated Industrial Control System (ICS) environments.

The Manager leads contractor personnel, ensures high-quality technical delivery, and interfaces with government stakeholders. Utilizing advanced CTI and DCO expertise, the role identifies, communicates, and mitigates cyber threats facing launch-critical systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead and manage cyber threat intelligence, cybersecurity analysis, and mission-assurance personnel; prioritize and assign work; and maintain technical standards, quality-assurance processes, performance measures, and timely delivery of contract requirements.

• Serve as the senior contractor technical representative for coordination with government leads, mission-planning cells, range operators, external intelligence organizations, and mission partners supporting the 630th Cyberspace Squadron and Space Launch Delta 30.

• Direct cyber threat intelligence planning and production activities, including intelligence requirements, collection requirements, threat assessments, indications-and-warning reporting, technical reports, executive-level briefings, database entries, and time-sensitive Requests for Information (RFIs).

• Lead real-time threat monitoring, intelligence-driven threat hunting, and adversary analysis to identify and assess adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures; indicators of compromise; cyber campaigns; and emerging threats affecting mission-relevant terrain.

• Lead Mission Area Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (IPB) reassessments and intelligence-gap management; maintain current, accurate, and operationally relevant IPB products, intelligence databases, and production workflows aligned with the Joint Planning Process and mission requirements.

• Apply defensive cyberspace operations and mission-system cybersecurity expertise to assess threats and cyber risk affecting W-LTRS, range safety, telemetry, tracking, electrical distribution, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), industrial control systems, and operational technology environments.

• Manage cyber threat-emulation and exercise-support activities, including development of validated adversary-replication packages, planning and execution support for representative exercises, post-action validation assessments, and documentation of lessons learned and defensive gaps.

• Identify, communicate, and recommend mitigation for mission risks—including technical, operational, staffing, schedule, and dependency risks—and provide cyber-hardening recommendations to the program manager and government customer.

Minimum

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, intelligence studies, engineering, management, or a related discipline; an additional 4 years of relevant experience might be substituted for a degree.

•10+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, cyber threat intelligence, defensive cyber operations, threat hunting, security operations, incident analysis, mission assurance, or intelligence analysis.

• 3+ years of technical leadership experience leading cybersecurity or intelligence teams, managing personnel, or serving in a senior cybersecurity leadership role.

• Demonstrated experience leading cyber threat intelligence and analysis, including adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures; indicators of compromise; cyber campaigns; emerging threats; threat reporting; indications and warning; technical assessments; executive briefings; and time-sensitive RFIs.

• Core understanding of DCO concepts, threat hunting, risk analysis, and CTI platform workflows within OT, SCADA, ICS, or critical infrastructure environments.

• Ability to meet applicable Department of War 8140.3 Cybersecurity Workforce Qualification Requirements, Advanced Level, for the assigned labor category and work role.

Preferred

Qualifications

• Experience supporting United States Space Force, Department of War, intelligence community, space-launch, range-operations, or critical-infrastructure missions.

• Experience leading cyber threat intelligence, defensive cyberspace operations, security operations, threat-hunting, or mission-assurance functions.

• Familiarity with Defensive Cyber Operations–Space (DCO-S) tools, including Manticore and Kraken, and intelligence and counterintelligence collection tools and resources.

• Experience supporting Mission Area IPB, intelligence requirements management, collection planning, or Joint Planning Process activities.

• Experience supporting launch, telemetry, tracking, range safety, command-and-control, or similar mission-critical environments, including cyber threat-emulation, adversary-replication, purple-team, cyber exercise, or post-action validation activities.

Clearance

Requirements

• Current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is required.

Physical

Requirements

• Willingness to travel within the organizational area of responsibility using air and ground transportation, as required.

• Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time using standard or adjustable desks and chairs in secure work environments.

• Ability to occasionally move throughout office and technical work areas to access files, systems, equipment, and other mission-support resources.

• Availability to support cyber exercises, operational briefings, incident-driven activities, and other mission requirements outside normal business hours, as required.
