The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is seeking a physician who is board-certified/board-eligible in Internal Medicine and Nephrology for an Intermittent Academic Hospitalist and Nephrologist position.

The Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) is seeking a Part time- (Intermittent) (Hospitalist) to join the Specialty Care Service Line at the MVAMC in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Outline of Duties: This position requires demonstrated excellence in clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and other health professions trainees. Qualified candidates must have at least five years of experience at the Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine academic level at an academic affiliated University and must have teaching experience within the past five years. Documented excellence in research is required. Excellent interpersonal skills working with the entire inpatient interprofessional team is crucial. Hospitalist duties: include admitting and managing patients on medical wards and step-down units, co-management of non-medicine patients, and triage. Renal duties: include management of dialysis patients, renal consults, and management of renal transplant patients. Day shift duties include but are not limited to: daytime and evening hours weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Recruitment/Relocation Incentives (Sign-on Bonus): not approved Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: Part-time employees earn 1 hour for every 10 hours worked and can carry over a maximum of 240 hours (use or lose)- Sick leave: Part-time employees earn 1 hour for every 20 hours worked. CME: NA Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Must be able to meet physical demands which include strenuous physical activity to include carrying persons and equipment, walking long distances over difficult terrain, running, climbing, working long hours in austere or arduous conditions, long periods of standing, and bending and stooping.
