Job description
The Division of Endocrinology seeks to recruit a full-time Without Compensation (WOC) Physician (Endocrinology Clinician) The incumbent will be an integral part of the Endocrine Section's scholarly and academic programs. This position includes direct patient care and teaching activities in the Endocrine Section. The WOC Physician (Endocrinology Clinician) will work at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto CA.
This position, which includes a mix of clinical care, teaching, research (optional) and administration. This position includes direct patient care and teaching activities in the Endocrine Section. The incumbent will be responsible for assessment and care of new and returning patients, ordering diagnostics, consultations, medications, and other therapies as medically indicated while completing all required VA computer documentation including clinical reminders and screenings. Duties include but are not limited to: Provides clinical care in the Endocrine Section Accepts on call coverage responsibilities as scheduled by the Section Chief Participates in quality improvement /assurance activities as directed by the Section Chief Understands and follows VHA's "Mission Statement", "Code of Ethics", organizational policies, and structure. Performs additional duties as needed to achieve the VA Mission at the direction of the Section Chief Work Schedule: Will be determined by the service.

Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation/examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
