The Opportunity:

As a Pre Sales Engineering Lead at TSPi, you will help shape and advance innovative technology solutions that address complex challenges across the federal health landscape. Working at the intersection of health, technology, customer engagement, and growth, you will partner with federal health customers and internal teams to understand mission needs and translate them into practical, scalable digital solutions.

This role will engage customers early in the opportunity lifecycle, including before formal procurements or RFPs are released. You will lead technical discovery, help shape technology roadmaps and solution concepts, and develop demonstrations, proofs of concept, prototypes, and pilots that show customers how emerging technologies can address their most pressing challenges.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in AI engineering, data engineering, and/or modern data platforms, along with experience applying technology within federal, customer environments. You will combine hands-on technical credibility with strong problem-solving and communication skills to translate complex customer needs into compelling technology solutions.

Experience supporting federal customers is highly valued. Relevant experience within highly regulated environments may be applicable.

Job Duties:

  • Engage directly with federal health customers and prospective customers — often before formal procurements or RFPs are released — to understand mission, program, data, and technology challenges.
  • Lead technical discovery conversations to uncover requirements, pain points, and opportunities for technology-enabled solutions.
  • Design and present innovative technology solutions that support new customer acquisition and expansion within existing federal health accounts.
  • Develop demonstrations, prototypes, proofs of concept, and pilots that show the feasibility and value of proposed solutions.
  • Apply AI, data engineering, modern data platforms, and other emerging technologies to complex health and healthcare use cases.
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear mission and business value for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Partner with health subject matter experts, engineers, architects, data scientists, growth leaders, and capture teams to develop differentiated technical approaches.
  • Contribute technical expertise throughout capture, solutioning, proposal development, and oral presentations.
  • Incorporate data security, privacy, governance, interoperability, accessibility, and responsible AI considerations into solution design.
  • Develop reusable technical solutions, accelerators, and proof points that can be leveraged across health customers and programs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies and federal health technology priorities to identify new opportunities within existing and prospective customer environments.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in technology engineering, solution engineering, technical consulting, architecture, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience applying technology within health, healthcare, federal health, insurance, claims, benefits, or another closely related environment.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more of the following: AI engineering, data engineering, data platforms, cloud or platform engineering, software development, or technical architecture.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable technologies. Experience working with leading cloud providers including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Experience engaging directly with customers to conduct discovery and develop technology solutions that address business and mission requirements.
  • Experience developing and presenting demonstrations, proofs of concept, prototypes, or pilots.
  • Experience contributing to capture, proposals, or customer solutioning activities, including oral presentations.
  • Experience working within complex, highly regulated, or mission-driven environments.

Required

Skills

  • Deep technical expertise in AI engineering, data engineering, data platforms, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong technical discovery skills — asking effective questions, uncovering customer needs, and translating them into technical requirements and practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and demonstrate mission/business value to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to independently develop or lead the development of demonstrations, proofs of concept, and other technical proof points.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical, growth, capture, consulting, and subject matter expert teams.
  • Understanding of data security, privacy, governance, and related considerations for deploying technology in regulated environments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and evolving customer requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field preferred.
