Job description

Purpose

The Product Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth, gross margin, and strategic performance for assigned product lines or supplier portfolios. This role manages supplier relationships, translates commercial and supplier priorities into actionable sales initiatives, and partners cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Planning, Marketing, and Commercial leadership to improve portfolio performance, support customer development, and execute product strategy.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.

Portfolio Strategy, Growth & Profitability

Own revenue, volume, gross margin, product mix, and profitability performance for assigned product lines or supplier portfolios.

Develop and execute portfolio strategies, pricing guidance, sourcing plans, inventory actions, and growth priorities aligned with business objectives.

Monitor market trends, supply conditions, cost changes, competitive activity, and material availability to guide commercial decisions and risk mitigation.

Supplier & Commercial Relationship Management

Manage strategic supplier relationships and serve as the primary commercial liaison between supplier partners and ENTEC Polymers.

Align with suppliers on growth priorities, product positioning, target markets, pricing strategy, forecasts, service expectations, and supply planning needs.

Support supplier agreements, cost negotiations, price guides, delivered cost analysis, packaging strategies, and other commercial requirements as needed.

Sales Enablement, Customer Support & Demand Generation

Equip Sales with portfolio playbooks, training, market intelligence, pricing guidance, application examples, and competitive positioning tools.

Coach Account Managers on deal strategy, new business development, customer retention, re-engagement opportunities, and objection handling through joint sales activity or consultation.

Partner with Marketing and Commercial Support to develop targeted customers, segment, application, or supplier-aligned campaigns that generate qualified opportunities.

Support key customer opportunities as a product expert by identifying value propositions, alternatives, program opportunities, and risk mitigation options.

Analytics, CRM & Cross-Functional Execution

Use CRM, dashboards, and business analytics to evaluate portfolio performance, pipeline quality, quote activity, wins, losses, gaps, and missed opportunities.

Create reports and insights that guide sales action plans, reinforce follow-up accountability, and improve portfolio performance by customer, region, supplier, and Account Manager.

Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Planning, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Service to balance customer needs, supplier commitments, inventory risks, and business priorities.

General Responsibilities

Make sound transactional and strategic business decisions aligned with company goals, delegated authority, supplier requirements, and profitability expectations.

Attend supplier meetings, customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows as needed to strengthen market knowledge and support portfolio growth.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate supplier, customer, market, financial, and data insights into profitable growth decisions.

Knowledge of plastic resin markets, product families, processing methods, applications, supplier dynamics, and competitive positioning; commodity and/or engineering plastics experience preferred.

Demonstrated capability in supplier and customer negotiation, pricing discipline, cost management, forecasting, contract support, and profitability analysis.

Proficiency with CRM, dashboards, reporting tools, Microsoft Office, and related business systems, with the ability to use analytics to identify opportunities and drive accountability.

Effective communication, presentation, coaching, and influencing skills with the ability to align Sales, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional partners.

Ability to prioritize competing initiatives, respond quickly to commercial needs, follow through on commitments, and develop practical solutions that improve portfolio outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Material Science, Supply Chain or related training required

Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility preferred

Financial business acumen as demonstrated by previous work experience

Sales or sales management experience preferred

Commodity and/or Engineering plastics market experience

Licenses / Certifications:

Valid driver’s license – required

Language:

Proficiency in English required

Bi-Lingual – Spanish or Portuguese is a plus

Work Environment / Conditions

This position is a hybrid in-office and work-from-home role.

May be required to travel to office locations in the USA as well as other countries.

Ability to setup desk equipment including setting up equipment on top of desks and connecting cables and power cords under desk (requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling).
