Job description

Spang Engineered Solutions, a division of Spang & Company, has an opening for a Production Manager based in McKinney, TX. This position will lead daily manufacturing and assembly operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost goals.

Spang Engineered Solutions designs and manufactures custom inductive components for an array of industries. Our manufacturing locations include Pittsburgh, PA, Phoenix, AZ, and McKinney, TX in the U.S.A., and Xiamen, China.

Major responsibilities include managing the Production Supervisor and Maintenance Technician and providing direction to production technicians, setting priorities, planning staffing and schedules, coordinating shop orders, monitoring performance, and resolving production bottlenecks. The role will support low-volume, new, and technically complex work; investigate process and employee errors; provide training and retraining; qualify technicians on specialized processes; and lead production meetings. Working closely with Engineering, this individual will address technical issues and nonconformances, improve processes, update tooling and documentation, and support new equipment. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate ERP production data, improving workflow and process control, managing critical fixture and hardware inventory, supporting equipment maintenance and installation, coordinating property and vendor matters, conducting safety walkthroughs, ensuring compliance with PPE and procedures, coordinating safety training and corrective actions, and meeting Quality Management System and AS9100 training requirements. The position requires flexibility to support staggered shifts, weekends, after-hours operations, and facility oversight when senior site leadership is unavailable.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field. Candidates must have at least five years of technical manufacturing experience, including three years in a supervisory or management role within an ERP-supported production environment. Experience with production scheduling, employee development, safety, quality systems, continuous improvement, and cross-functional problem-solving is required. Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, mechanical systems, production equipment, and technical documentation.
