The PageWide Industrial Print – R&D HW Senior Manager leads cross disciplinary technical teams (Writing Systems, Mechanical Design, EE, Program Management) to develop and commercialize our next generation of Industrial Printing Presses. Main responsibilities include:

  • Leadership: Provide strong leadership across teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Develop organizational capabilities, strengthen leadership bench strength, and serve as a role model for HP's values and leadership standards.
  • Product Development: Provide leadership for the development and commercialization of innovative products and solutions. Drive alignment across R&D, Operations, Customer Assurance, Services, Marketing, and other key functions to ensure products are customer-focused, manufacturable, serviceable, reliable, and positioned for market success while achieving business and financial objectives.
  • Vintage Chart & Product Ownership Planning: Own and maintain product ownership strategies and vintage planning processes, ensuring alignment of resources, product responsibilities, and organizational priorities to support both current and future business needs.
  • Technology Strategy & Roadmaps: Define and drive technology roadmaps that align market needs, customer requirements, and business strategies with future product development plans. Coordinate closely with MTD and other technology partners to ensure critical enabling technologies are available to support long-term product and platform strategies.
  • Program Management Office (PMO): Provide governance and oversight for program execution, ensuring effective prioritization, risk management, resource allocation, and cross-functional alignment to meet business commitments for cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
  • MTD Strategic Partnership & Technology Integration: Serve as the primary leadership interface with MTD, ensuring alignment of technology investments, product roadmaps, development priorities, and execution plans. Drive cross-organizational collaboration to successfully integrate printhead, ink, and related technologies into products while ensuring technology readiness, risk mitigation, and business alignment.
  • Organizational Capacity & Capability: Develop and execute workforce, capability, and succession strategies to ensure the organization can effectively scale and meet future business demands. Continuously assess skills, capacity, processes, and organizational effectiveness to enable growth and execution excellence.
  • Business & Market Leadership: Partner with Marketing, Business Management, customers, and industry stakeholders to understand market dynamics, competitive trends, and emerging customer needs. Translate insights into technology, product, and organizational strategies that strengthen HP's market position and drive sustainable growth.
  • Section Management: Lead talent development, workforce planning, budgeting, deliverables, schedules, and operational execution across multiple programs and teams. Ensure resources are effectively deployed and commitments are achieved in alignment with organizational objectives, customer requirements, and business priorities.
  • Culture: Foster a high-performing culture built on customer focus, growth mindset, innovation, collaboration, engagement, diversity, and inclusion. Inspire teams to challenge convention, embrace continuous learning, and deliver exceptional business results.
  • Talent Development & Succession Planning: Build a strong leadership pipeline through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning to ensure long-term organizational success.
  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Lead long-range workforce and organizational planning to align talent, skills, and resources with future technology and business requirements.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, decision-making, and organizational effectiveness while reducing complexity and execution risk.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Influence and align stakeholders across R&D, Manufacturing, Marketing, Services, Customer Assurance, Finance, and Program Management to achieve business outcomes that span organizational boundaries.

Position will be in Corvallis, OR, San Diego will be considered.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering, science or appropriate relevant field and at least seven years of related experience
  • Proven success and experience as a people manager

The pay range for this role is $147,050 to $230,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
