Job Summary

The Quality Manager serves as a key member of the plant leadership team, providing strategic direction for the Quality Department and promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement. This role oversees the plant’s quality systems, supplier quality, incoming inspection, quality control and assurance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. Through strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision-making, the Quality Manager drives product and process quality, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.

Job Duties

Develop and execute a comprehensive site, Quality Strategy aligned with corporate objectives. Identify critical roles, build the appropriate organizational structure, and recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Quality Team through clearly defined expectations, targeted training, and continuous professional development.

Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the facility’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements, customer-specific requirements, applicable regulatory obligations, and industry standards.

Lead site quality initiatives and quality-related projects, establishing priorities, timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements are effectively integrated into projects, processes, and operational activities.

Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal quality control and inspection systems, including metrology, measurement and monitoring processes, incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and plant-floor quality controls.

Serve as a key member of the plant leadership team, representing the Quality function in strategic planning, operational reviews, performance discussions, and business decision-making.

Lead the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process related to customer complaints. Analyze quality data and trends, facilitate root cause analysis, and partner with Engineering and other functional teams to implement, verify, and sustain effective corrective actions.

Establish, monitor, and report key quality performance indicators (KPIs). Support other departments in developing meaningful performance metrics and evaluating process inputs, outputs, and interdependencies to improve quality and operational performance.

Partner with Procurement and suppliers to address supplier quality concerns, establish corrective actions, monitor supplier performance, and drive improvements that strengthen overall supply chain quality and reliability.

Coordinate and lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits. Ensure facility-wide audit readiness, timely closure of findings, and effective cross-functional alignment on corrective actions.

Conduct and facilitate quality-related risk assessments and provide strategic guidance to plant leadership and operational teams. Utilize quality planning and risk-management tools, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans, and other applicable methodologies, to identify, mitigate, and control operational and product risks.

Partner cross-functionally to develop, implement, and maintain quality documentation, including inspection and testing procedures, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), control plans, and process flow diagrams. Ensure employees are appropriately trained and that requirements are consistently understood and followed.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership throughout the facility by identifying improvement opportunities, implementing sustainable solutions, and promoting accountability for quality at all levels of the organization.

Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)

Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

Minimum of 5 years of related manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years of experience leading a Quality function or Quality team in a manufacturing environment.

Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer role is preferred.

Competencies/ Skills

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, with practical experience implementing, maintaining, auditing, and continuously improving integrated management systems.

Demonstrated ability to lead root cause investigations, develop effective corrective and preventive actions, and use quality data to drive sound decision-making and sustainable improvements.

Ability to develop clear, concise, and accurate quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, technical reports, audit documentation, and quality-related communications.

Experience leading customer complaint investigations, performing failure analysis, determining root causes, implementing corrective actions, and preparing comprehensive technical responses and reports.

Strong ability to research, interpret, and apply customer-specific, regulatory, and industry requirements and make timely, informed decisions to maintain compliance.

Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, tolerances, and other technical documentation.

Working knowledge of applicable ASTM standards and test methods and their use in product inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities.

Strong understanding of statistical quality concepts and tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), control charts, process capability studies, trend analysis, and data interpretation.

Working knowledge and practical application of AIAG Core Tools, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
