Well qualified candidates will bring training and experience in life sciences, especially knowledge of immunology, microbiology, virology, or genetics. Strong organizational skills and experience in program or project management also will be key to success in this role. The position is a good match for a proactive researcher who enjoys the laboratory and operational sides of research equally and seeks options for process improvement.

The Role

As ENID Center Manager, you will provide administrative expertise, lead outreach and communications efforts, and manage research reporting. You also will perform experimental and lab management duties that further the Center’s research projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising the collection of clinical data from human subjects and configuring project setup in the REDCap system
  • Facilitating the transfer of research data, publications, and events of interest to the NIH-funded Data Management and Coordination Center
  • Organizing meetings between research collaborators and attending joint lab meetings
  • Contributing to preparation of research reports to NIH and other funders and assisting with grant proposals
  • Working with hospital staff to screen subjects for project participation, interfacing with research participants, and partnering with recruitment services to ensure adequate participation
  • Maintaining and adding samples to our Biobank and tracking sample storage and shipments to researchers
  • Conducting research experiments, such as performing assays on human blood components or culturing human cells for assays
  • Interacting with clinicians and other research centers to acquire samples and survey data
  • Managing equipment and supplies and assisting with regulatory compliance activities
  • Maintaining the Center’s website and social media platforms and serving as a Center point of contact

As part of the Cornell community, you will help foster a culture of belonging and a healthy work environment by communicating across differences; being cooperative, collaborative, open, and welcoming; showing respect, compassion, and empathy; engaging and supporting others regardless of background or perspective; speaking up when others are being excluded or treated inappropriately; and supporting work/life integration of oneself and others.
