This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Risk Manager (Pharmaceutical Construction) based in United States.
The Risk Manager will lead risk management activities across complex pharmaceutical construction and other high-value capital projects. You will work closely with project stakeholders and subject matter experts to evaluate cost, schedule, and risk information and turn that analysis into actionable insights. The role includes facilitating quantitative risk assessment workshops, developing comprehensive risk registers, and modeling potential project impacts. You will also conduct stress tests for extreme risk events and communicate findings to broader project teams and decision-makers. Success in this role requires a balance of analytical rigor, strategic thinking, leadership, and strong stakeholder engagement. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a remote working arrangement and the potential to work with diverse teams across innovative and technically demanding industries.
Accountabilities
- Prepare and facilitate quantitative risk assessment workshops by collaborating with project stakeholders to review cost, schedule, and risk information.
- Engage with risk owners and subject matter experts to develop realistic assessments of risk impacts, ensuring mitigation strategies are appropriately reflected in project cost and schedule forecasts.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project risk registers and risk profiles that clearly capture identified risks, ownership, impacts, and mitigation actions.
- Develop stress-test scenarios for extreme risk events and apply expert risk analysis to assess their potential effect on project outcomes.
- Analyze and communicate risk modeling outputs clearly to project teams, stakeholders, and other relevant decision-makers.
- Support broader risk management teams by providing training, guidance, and updates on risk and opportunity management processes.
- Apply quantitative and qualitative risk management techniques to support informed project planning and decision-making.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders while balancing analytical requirements with practical project needs.
- Contribute to business development activities by engaging prospective clients and identifying opportunities to expand relationships with existing clients.
- Manage personal priorities and deadlines effectively while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and professional delivery.
- Hold a degree in a relevant discipline or demonstrate comparable professional experience.
- Have proven experience delivering risk management services with a strong focus on risk modeling and quantitative risk analysis.
- Bring approximately 12 years of progressive experience within high-tech, pharmaceutical, data center, infrastructure, oil and gas, or similarly complex capital-intensive industries.
- Hold or be working toward a recognized risk or project management certification such as PMI, RMP, IRM, or APM.
- Have experience with industry risk management tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis, @RISK, or SafranRisk, with familiarity with ARM, Xactium, RiskPredict!, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project considered valuable.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of recognized risk management principles and frameworks, including ISO 31000, COSO, AACE, and PMI risk management guidelines.
- Possess strong analytical capabilities combined with strategic thinking and the ability to apply risk insights to real-world project decisions.
- Be highly detail-oriented and quality-focused, with a consistent commitment to accuracy and professional standards.
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to engage risk owners and subject matter experts effectively.
- Be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where you are responsible for managing your own priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Bring a proactive, commercially aware mindset and the ability to contribute to client relationship development and business growth.
- Annual salary range of $125,000–$175,000 USD, with final compensation determined by experience, education, skills, and other relevant factors.
