This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Account Manager - Air Force based in United States.

This remote leadership role drives business development and account growth across the U.S. Air Force market.

You will help shape account strategy, develop qualified pipelines, and identify opportunities with strong potential to win.

The position combines senior customer engagement, market intelligence, partner development, and capture support.

You will build trusted relationships with Air Force stakeholders, industry partners, OEMs, and other strategic organizations.

The role requires a strong understanding of Air Force priorities, acquisition processes, competitive dynamics, and federal contracting.

You will collaborate closely with internal business, portfolio, capture, and proposal teams to advance high-value opportunities.

This is a high-impact position for an experienced defense professional who can influence strategy and support contracts exceeding $50M.

Accountabilities

  • Support the development and execution of Air Force account strategies and qualified business development pipelines in partnership with business area and portfolio leadership.
  • Develop go-to-market and market penetration strategies designed to deepen customer relationships and expand the business base.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with Air Force stakeholders, industry partners, OEMs, trade associations, and small businesses.
  • Coordinate internal communications, customer meetings, strategy sessions, pipeline discussions, opportunity assessments, and business reviews.
  • Build and maintain trusted customer and industry relationships to gather market intelligence, understand customer needs, and position solutions effectively.
  • Identify and manage strategic partners and teammates that can strengthen win probability and growth potential.
  • Establish effective customer interfaces and deliver compelling messaging across meetings, events, and other communication channels.
  • Develop and manage an industry events calendar while coordinating customer engagement with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify, analyze, qualify, and manage opportunities aligned with organizational capabilities and growth priorities.
  • Support responses to government market research activities, including Requests for Information and Sources Sought Notices.
  • Develop stakeholder maps and customer call plans, assess competitive landscapes, and contribute to differentiated win strategies throughout the business development lifecycle.
  • Monitor Air Force acquisition cycles and long-range forecasts to inform pipeline planning and opportunity development.
  • Support bid reviews, opportunity assessments, business cases, capture activities, and proposal development for strategic opportunities.
  • Assist capture and proposal teams with customer and partner communications, readiness activities, color reviews, and other pursuit meetings.
  • Help identify and facilitate teaming agreements that strengthen strategic pursuits and increase the likelihood of successful contract awards.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required; scientific, engineering, or business disciplines are preferred, while an advanced degree is highly desirable.
    • Previous Air Force leadership experience at the Group level or above is required, with command experience highly desired.
    • Operational Air Force experience in a rated career field, such as pilot, CSO/WSO, or related aircrew roles, is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of Air Force acquisition processes, strategic priorities, and how the organization procures services and mission solutions.
    • Demonstrated experience developing qualified pipelines and contributing to successful new-business pursuits.
    • Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, government contracting policies, and key Air Force/DoD contract vehicles.
    • Awareness of current acquisition trends, customer buying behaviors, and competitive dynamics within the defense market.
    • Experience supporting SAP and/or SCI programs.
    • Knowledge of leading industry partners and competitors.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple senior customer relationships and translate them into business opportunities.
    • Demonstrated success identifying, qualifying, and helping organizations win contracts valued at more than $50 million.
    • Ability to identify growth areas and develop new business aligned with strategic campaigns and organizational priorities.
    • Strong executive-level presentation, communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
    • Familiarity with CRM, pipeline management, market intelligence, business analytics, and other technology-enabled business development tools.
    • Active Top Secret clearance is required.
    • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, or as business needs require.
