About the Position

Our client is seeking a Senior Safety Manager – Foundations to lead safety strategy and execution across a multistate deep foundations operation.

This is a senior-level leadership position responsible for developing and managing safety programs across a five-state region while partnering closely with project management, field leadership, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

The ideal candidate will bring significant civil construction safety experience and a strong understanding of the unique risks associated with deep foundations, cranes, rigging, heavy equipment, and complex construction operations.

Key

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage multistate safety programs for deep foundation operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop safety professionals across the organization.
  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments and develop site-specific safety plans.
  • Perform jobsite audits and inspections to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and assist with regulatory inspections and inquiries.
  • Lead investigations involving incidents, near misses, property damage, and other safety events.
  • Develop corrective and preventive action plans and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Analyze safety performance metrics and communicate trends, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Develop and coordinate safety training programs for field and project personnel.
  • Partner with project managers, site supervisors, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain high safety standards.
  • Provide guidance on safe operations involving cranes, rigging, heavy equipment, and deep foundation activities.
  • Support the continued development of a proactive, company-wide safety culture.
  • Travel regularly throughout a five-state operating region to support projects and field teams.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of progressive construction safety experience, preferably within civil/heavy civil construction.
  • Significant experience supporting multistate construction operations.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and construction safety standards and best practices.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop safety personnel.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and project-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout a five-state region.
  • Strong understanding of deep foundations, cranes, rigging, heavy equipment, and related construction hazards preferred.

Preferred Certifications &

Qualifications

  • OHST, CHST, or CSP certification.
  • OSHA 500 certification.
  • Confined Space training.
  • HAZWOPER training.
  • DOT and/or MSHA training.
  • Class A or B CDL with current medical card.

Experience with deep foundations, commercial/high-rise construction, bridges and marine structures, industrial/manufacturing facilities, or infrastructure and transportation projects is highly valued.
