Position Summary

The Service Completion Team Manager owns the health and velocity of Fabick's open work-order pipeline across all branches. This role leads a centralized Service Completion Team responsible for driving work orders from "repair complete" to "invoiced and closed," eliminating the aged work-in-process (WIP) that ties up company cash. This is a working leadership role: the Manager is accountable for reducing days-to-close, shrinking the 30-plus-day WIP bucket, and holding the line on Fabick's close standards -- while personally closing work orders alongside the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the close pipeline. Drive the daily flow of work orders from repair-complete → ready-to-close → invoiced. Accountable for total open WIP dollars, aged-WIP percentage (30-plus-day bucket), and average days-to-close as primary performance measures.
  • Lead and develop the team. Manage, schedule, coach, and hold accountable the Service Completion Specialists. Set daily close targets, review throughput, and remove roadblocks so the team can produce.
  • Clear the blockers. Own the standing blocker categories -- SIMS, labor not posted, customer PO, ServiceLink held-up, notes, parts back-order, and core return -- and build the cross-functional routines with branch service supervisors, parts, and writers to resolve them.
  • Enforce close standards. Guarantee every work order meets Fabick's close conditions before invoicing: complete notes, SIMS filed, cores returned, labor fully posted, customer PO on file where required, and parts documents acknowledged in segment maintenance.
  • Escalate the large and aged jobs. Personally own the escalation path for the largest and oldest work orders (100-plus days or six-figure WIP), driving named ownership and a committed close date on each.
  • Partner with the branches. Work through Regional Product Support Managers and branch managers to install a repeatable WIP-velocity process; identify best-practice branches and replicate what they do well.
  • Close work orders. Carry a personal close queue and lead by example -- this is a hands-on manager who works the board, not just reports on it.
  • Report up. Deliver a clean daily and weekly completion scorecard to the Director -- closed today, ready-to-close backlog, blocker breakdown, and aged-WIP trend.
