Job description

1. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

  • Under the direction of the Project Manager, ensures completion of daily assignments and activities, providing training and support to work crews consisting of staff and employees with disabilities. The Assistant Project Manager is the designee in the absence of the Project Manager.

2. PRIMARY SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Thursday 7:00am-3:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Days and hours may vary and include evenings, Holidays, and weekends, as needed.

3. SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

  • Works under the supervision of the NVS Sierra Army Depot-Herlong Project Manager.

4. SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

  • Is responsible to supervise staff and individuals with disabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Current California driver’s license, with an acceptable DMV printout and insurability.
  • Ability to pass a DOJ criminal background check.
  • Ability to pass CPR and First Aid courses.
  • Ability to be certified in Behavior
  • Ability to create and maintain documents using Excel and Word. Overall familiarity with computer programs.
  • Understanding of Federal Contract process and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively implement individual supported employee plans.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

6. DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows all procedures, policies, and guidelines of North Valley Services.
  • Motivates, supports, and trains employees to assist clients in establishing professional work ethics, social skills, and appropriate apparel for work.
  • Multitasks and prioritizes to meet deadlines.
  • Participates in continuous staff development and training.
  • Educates and assists clients in establishing professional work ethics, social skills, and appropriate apparel for work.
  • Maintains current, accurately documented client files, completes all required paperwork and service tracking reports according to deadlines.
  • Provides timely interventions. Returns phone calls and reacts to situations in a timely manner.
  • Works with minimal supervision and exercises independent judgment.
  • Completes progress reports and billing paperwork.
  • Interacts effectively with employers and funding sources.
  • Demonstrates and maintains a positive and professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Public safety and convenience are to be always considered.
  • Provides staff trainings, support, and supervision.
  • Supervises and coordinates employees’ daily schedules.
  • Ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliances.
  • Performs work site inspections.
  • Performs general office duties including, answering phones, and ordering office supplies.
  • In conjunction with Project Manager, manages Safety Program, including Fire Safety, Voluntary Protection Program, Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge of Environmental Management Systems. (EMS)
  • Drives personal or NVS vehicles as needed.
  • Fulfill the role of Project Manager, in their absence.
  • Additional duties as assigned including filling in at other sites or departments as needed.

7. PHYSICAL DUTIES:

  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, (bending, pushing, lifting, and stooping).
  • Ability to tolerate all weather conditions (heat, cold) when working outdoors.
  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.

8. STANDARDS FOR MEASURING PERFORMANCE:

  • Must be self-motivated and trustworthy.
