The Social Videographer is a hands-on creative role focused. The role is focused on social-first video capture for Hourglass Cosmetics. At its core, this person is a strong videographer, with photography and editing capabilities as a nice-to-have. They have a refined visual eye and a strong understanding of how to translate creative concepts into compelling, elevated content for social.

This role will focus on event reels, key brand moments and social-first product storytelling, bringing creative concepts to life through thoughtful, visually compelling video. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable creating elevated camera and lighting setup for a controlled studio shoot and moving quickly to capture dynamic event videography.

You will work closely to execute creative concepts from brief through capture and post-production, while also responding to social briefs with strong visual solutions and bringing your own creative point of view to the work.

Video editing and photography experience are a bonus, particularly for event and behind-the-scenes capture, but video capture is the primary focus of the role.

You will work closely with the Social Media, Influencer and Brand Marketing teams. We are looking for someone who is creative, collaborative and eager to contribute ideas, receptive to feedback and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Own social-first video capture across product storytelling, event reels and key brand moments.
  • Translate creative concepts and briefs into strong, visually compelling social video that feels distinctly Hourglass.
  • Capture both planned and quick-turn content, working across camera and iPhone depending on the creative need.
  • Partner with the Social Art Director on concepting, creative development, shot lists, capture and post-production.
  • Help bring larger campaign and creative concepts to life through thoughtful social extensions.
  • Capture event and in-store moments quickly and intuitively, understanding what will translate best to social.
  • Edit video for social platforms, delivering content that is polished, intentional and platform appropriate.
  • Bring a strong visual point of view while remaining responsive to creative direction and brand guidelines.
  • Support still photography when needed, particularly for events, BTS and social capture.
  • Stay close to social, culture and emerging visual behaviors, identifying creative opportunities that feel relevant while remaining distinctly Hourglass.
  • Help build efficient, repeatable capture and editing workflows that allow the team to respond to the pace of social.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF:

  • You are CREATIVE: a videographer first with a strong visual eye and a distinct point of view.
  • You are SOCIAL-NATIVE: you understand how people consume content today and instinctively know what will feel natural and compelling on social.
  • You are CONCEPTUAL: you can take a creative idea and translate it into thoughtful, visually interesting video.
  • You are DETAIL ORIENTED: you care about composition, lighting, movement, framing and the small details that elevate a piece of content.
  • You are AGILE: you can move between a planned product shoot, an in-store moment and a fast-moving event without losing creative intention.
  • You are a strong COMMUNICATOR: curious, proactive and comfortable contributing ideas while taking direction.
  • You are COLLABORATIVE: receptive to feedback and able to work closely with creative and marketing partners.
  • You are RESOURCEFUL: comfortable working with professional camera equipment and lighting as well as an iPhone when the moment calls for it.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience shooting and developing content for social media.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating primarily social-first video work, with photography as a secondary skill.
  • Professional experience shooting and editing video for social platforms, ideally within beauty, fashion, luxury, lifestyle or another visually driven brand.
  • Experience bringing creative concepts to life through video capture, including product, events, retail/in-store and talent.
  • Professional experience shooting with camera systems, lighting equipment and iPhone.
  • Strong video editing skills and proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or other professional editing software.
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, movement, pacing, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms and how creative translates across formats and placements.
  • Strong ability to work quickly and independently while maintaining a high level of creative quality.
  • Photography experience is a plus, particularly for event, BTS and social capture.
  • Ability to travel for shoots, events and key brand moments as needed.
  • Must be able to work from Corporate Office at least 60% of the time.
