Job description

About Axiom Group Inc.

Axiom Group Inc. is a growing manufacturing organization committed to innovation, operational excellence, and developing a strong, people-focused workplace. We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Generalist who can take ownership of day-to-day HR operations while partnering closely with leadership to support the company's continued growth.

The Opportunity

Are you an HR professional who enjoys owning the HR function, solving employee-related challenges, and making a visible impact on the business?

As our Senior HR Generalist, you will play a key role in managing the full spectrum of HR activities—from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance management, compliance, policies, benefits, and offboarding.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional HR role. You will work directly with senior management, help shape people strategies, improve HR processes, and have the autonomy to make meaningful decisions.

What You'll Do

HR Operations & Employee Relations

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance to employees and managers.
  • Handle employee relations matters, investigations, performance issues, and workplace concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Support a positive, respectful, and productive workplace culture.

Recruitment & Talent Management

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from job description development and sourcing to interviews, offers, and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate and improve onboarding programs for new employees.
  • Analyze turnover and absenteeism trends and recommend improvement initiatives.

HR Systems & Administration

  • Administer the HRIS and ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare and report HR metrics and provide recommendations to management.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Manage employee offboarding, including exit interviews and documentation.

Policies, Compliance & Labour Relations

  • Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures in accordance with applicable employment legislation.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with Ontario employment standards and other applicable regulations.
  • Draft employment contracts, letters, and HR-related documentation.
  • Support corporate HR initiatives and standardize HR programs and processes.

Immigration & Special Projects

  • Support employee immigration applications, including intra-company transfers and other work authorization processes.
  • Assist with corporate HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with corporate HR to align local HR practices with organizational objectives.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and HR policies.
  • Experience working with an HRIS and HR reporting/analytics.
  • Strong understanding of benefits administration and HR documentation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with immigration/work permit processes is considered an asset.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation or working toward designation is an asset.

Why Join Axiom?

  • Make an impact: Take ownership of HR and directly influence the employee experience.
  • Work with leadership: Partner directly with senior management on people and organizational initiatives.
  • Autonomy: This role provides the opportunity to make decisions, improve processes, and build HR programs.
  • Career growth: Be part of a growing organization where your contribution is visible.
  • People-focused culture: Help build a workplace where employees can succeed and grow.
  • Dynamic manufacturing environment: Gain exposure to a wide range of HR functions and business operations.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, practical, and confident. You should be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to handle day-to-day HR matters while also thinking strategically about how HR can support the business.
