Job description

The role will partner with factory operations, engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise IT, application, and business teams to support resilient 24/7 production, modernize the OT environment, and enable future factory integrations and expansions. You will translate operational needs and risks into multiyear roadmaps, investment priorities, standards, and measurable service outcomes.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strong influence across organizational boundaries. The position will guide cross-functional delivery teams, govern vendors and service partners, communicate risk and investment recommendations to senior stakeholders, and lead response and recovery for critical infrastructure disruptions.

Regular onsite presence at the San Jose or Sunnyvale, California factory is expected. Occasional travel and after-hours or weekend work may be required to support planned maintenance, factory priorities, and critical incidents.

  • =Define and execute a multiyear manufacturing OT infrastructure strategy and roadmap aligned with production requirements, cybersecurity priorities, business growth, and factory expansion plans.
  • Own the availability, resilience, performance, capacity, and lifecycle health of manufacturing-critical infrastructure supporting 24/7 operations.
  • Establish service-level objectives, operational metrics, monitoring, early-warning thresholds, and executive reporting that improve reliability and reduce recurring incidents.
  • Lead infrastructure architecture and governance across on-premises, hybrid-cloud, and edge environments, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and observability capabilities.
  • Partner with Factory Applications, Software Development, MES, ERP, engineering, cybersecurity, and enterprise IT teams to ensure solutions meet OT architecture, integration, supportability, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Prioritize infrastructure investments, technical-debt remediation, capacity needs, and risk mitigation; contribute to budget planning and clearly communicate trade-offs and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and service partners through solution design, implementation, validation, maintenance, incident response, and recovery while minimizing production disruption.
  • Govern infrastructure vendors and managed-service providers through clear standards, performance expectations, escalation paths, and continuous-improvement plans.
  • Develop and maintain OT infrastructure standards, asset and lifecycle practices, automation, configuration controls, and repeatable operating procedures.
  • Conduct infrastructure risk and vulnerability assessments and implement mitigations that balance cybersecurity, personnel safety, regulatory obligations, and manufacturing availability.
  • Ensure business-continuity and disaster-recovery plans are documented, tested, and improved through exercises and lessons learned.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with Nokia policies, applicable regulations, and recognized industrial-security and service-management practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure, technology operations, or a related field, including substantial experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure strategy, operations, or major transformation initiatives across organizational and geographic boundaries.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing OT architecture, reliability, cybersecurity, capacity planning, lifecycle management, and business continuity.
  • Experience supporting integration among Manufacturing Execution Systems, factory applications, data platforms, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Ability to lead high-severity incident response and communicate technical risk, business impact, and investment recommendations to technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, telecommunications, or other high-technology manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with industrial control and facilities systems such as SCADA, DCS, PLC, and EMS platforms.
  • Experience with OT asset inventory, network segmentation, vulnerability management, zero-trust principles, and secure remote access.
  • Familiarity with IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, IT service management, or related standards and practices.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud, edge computing, virtualization, containers, infrastructure as code, configuration automation, backup, and disaster-recovery technologies.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, managed services, or geographically distributed teams.

Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Builds alignment across factory, engineering, cybersecurity, application, and enterprise IT stakeholders.
  • Makes sound decisions in complex environments where safety, security, availability, cost, and delivery speed must be balanced.
  • Develops team capability through clear priorities, coaching, knowledge sharing, and accountable execution.
  • Communicates clearly with technical teams, factory leaders, vendors, and executives.
