Overview

Quantum STEM School is hiring a dependable, safety-focused Childcare Van Driver to transport children in our Mercedes Sprinter van. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with children and is confident managing both safe transportation and the transitions that come with moving a group of children from the classroom to the van and to their destination.

Schedule

Part-time, Monday–Friday

Monday–Thursday: 10:00 AM-4:00 PM

Friday: 12:30 PM–3:30 PM

Follows the Snoqualmie Valley School District calendar.

Pay

$25–$33/hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a Mercedes Sprinter passenger van to transport children.
• Supervise children during loading, transportation, and unloading.
• Manage transitions, including helping children prepare to leave the classroom, gather belongings, line up, and safely board the van.
• Ensure children are properly seated and buckled before the vehicle moves.
• Maintain accurate head counts and confirm all children are accounted for at each transition.
• Establish calm, clear expectations for safe behavior in and around the vehicle.
• Assist children with safely entering and exiting the van as needed.
• Transport children between our program, local schools, parks, and other approved destinations.
• Communicate effectively with teachers and other staff to ensure smooth pickups, drop-offs, and transitions.
• Follow all program transportation, supervision, and child-safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working with children and be comfortable managing a group of children independently.
• Experience working with children in childcare, schools, camps, recreation programs, or similar settings strongly preferred.
• Safe driving record and confidence driving a Mercedes Sprinter or similar passenger van.
• Patient, dependable, attentive, and able to maintain clear boundaries with children.
• Able to safely manage loading/unloading and active transitions.
• Must complete required MERIT/background check, CPR/First Aid, and other required childcare training.
• CDL is not required.
