Who Are We:

Sceye is a high-growth technology company, building the next generation of instant communications, imaging and remote sensing infrastructure through stratospheric platforms. Our lighter-than-air high-altitude platform systems (LTA HAPS) are capable of maintaining position over an operational area in the stratosphere (altitudes of 18 – 21km). They can carry multiple telecommunications, imaging and remote sensing payloads, providing unique functionality, cost, environmental and societal advantages.

Our customers & partners include some of the largest global telecommunications companies, infrastructure operators, climate researchers, civil and defense agencies. At Sceye, we aim high, and we want you to join us at the stratospheric edge of innovation. As part of our mission-driven team, you’ll contribute to building breakthrough technologies that are changing the way we connect and observe the world. We are looking for individuals who bring not only deep expertise but also bold vision and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

About the Position:

The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager is a key operational leadership role responsible for ensuring Sceye has the materials, components, equipment, and supplier support needed to meet our engineering, manufacturing, and flight operations goals.

This position oversees purchasing, supplier management, inventory, logistics, and material planning while helping build scalable processes that support Sceye’s continued growth. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced aerospace environment where priorities can shift quickly.

This role requires someone who can think strategically while also being hands-on with day-to-day execution. You will partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Mission Operations, Quality, and Finance to identify risks, solve supply chain challenges, improve supplier performance, and ensure critical materials are available when and where they are needed.

What You’ll Do:

Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Lead day-to-day supply chain, purchasing, sourcing, and supplier management activities across the organization.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical materials, components, equipment, and services.
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to understand material requirements, lead times, technical specifications, and production priorities.
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery performance, capacity, and business risk.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and other commercial agreements with suppliers.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships and proactively address performance, availability, and delivery concerns.
  • Monitor long-lead and critical-path materials and escalate risks before they impact production, testing, or flight schedules.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, improved terms, and increased supply chain efficiency.

Logistics & Materials Management

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, shipping, transportation, freight coordination, and material movement between Sceye locations.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments while ensuring documentation and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain efficient processes for receiving, storage, inventory control, material issuance, and shipment of parts and equipment.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure materials are properly identified, stored, tracked, and available when needed.
  • Support logistics planning for flight operations, testing activities, deployments, and other operational requirements.
  • Coordinate movement of equipment and materials between Sceye facilities, suppliers, and operational locations.
  • Work with freight carriers and logistics providers to optimize cost, reliability, and delivery performance.

Inventory & Planning

  • Establish and maintain effective inventory management processes and controls.
  • Monitor inventory levels, usage, shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.
  • Support demand planning, material planning, and purchasing activities based on engineering and operational requirements.
  • Improve visibility into open purchase orders, material status, supplier commitments, and expected delivery dates.
  • Partner with Finance to support inventory accuracy, purchasing controls, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliation.
  • Establish appropriate stocking levels and reorder strategies for frequently used and mission-critical materials.
  • Lead or support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.

Supplier Performance & Risk Management

  • Develop supplier performance metrics and regularly evaluate supplier quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Develop alternate sourcing strategies for critical or single-source components when appropriate.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to address supplier quality concerns and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, purchasing documentation, and supporting records in accordance with company requirements.

Process Improvement & Scalability

  • Develop and document supply chain, purchasing, inventory, and logistics processes that can scale with Sceye’s growth.
  • Establish meaningful KPIs to measure supply chain performance, including supplier on-time delivery, procurement cycle time, material shortages, inventory accuracy, and cost performance.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline purchasing, inventory management, logistics, and reporting processes.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of ERP, inventory, procurement, or other supply chain systems.
  • Create dashboards and regular reporting to provide leadership with visibility into supply chain performance, risks, and priorities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across Operations and the broader organization.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Mission Operations, Quality, Finance, and other teams to ensure supply chain activities align with business priorities.
  • Participate in production, engineering, and operational planning meetings as needed.
  • Communicate material constraints, supplier risks, delivery concerns, and recommended solutions clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support new product development and engineering changes by identifying sourcing requirements, supplier capabilities, cost implications, and lead-time considerations.
  • Balance urgent operational needs with long-term supply chain strategy and process development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, materials management, logistics, or related operations.
  • 3+ years of experience leading supply chain, procurement, logistics, or materials functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing suppliers, purchase orders, material planning, inventory, and logistics.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, inventory control, and supply chain planning principles.
  • Experience negotiating supplier pricing, terms, and commercial agreements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with ERP, inventory management, procurement, or supply chain systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar analytical tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within aerospace, aviation, defense, advanced manufacturing, hardware, or another highly technical industry.
  • Experience supporting prototype, low-volume, or rapidly evolving manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with domestic and international logistics and transportation.
  • Familiarity with import/export documentation, customs, and applicable trade-compliance requirements.
  • Experience implementing or improving ERP, purchasing, inventory, or materials-management systems.
  • Experience managing complex or long-lead aerospace components and suppliers.
  • APICS/ASCM, CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, or similar supply chain certification.

Physical & Work

Requirements

  • Ability to work primarily onsite at Sceye’s Moriarty, New Mexico facility.
  • Ability to travel periodically to suppliers, Sceye facilities, and operational locations as business needs require.
