Swim Instructor

The City of Miamisburg Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the 2027 seasonal position of Swim Instructor at Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center.

Swim Instructors report to the Facility Assistant Manager. This position plays an integral role in the fulfillment of Miamisburg Parks and Recreation’s mission and vision. Swim Instructors are responsible for leading and instructing swimming lessons. Swim Instructors will lead classes of 4-6 students with adequate class pacing and high regard for safety

The Swim Instructor is responsible for maintaining a professional and enjoyable swim lesson class, managing the safety of each participant, and creating a unique and enjoyable environment for students. Swim Instructors also assist patrons, provide rule enforcement, complete reports/student evaluations, clean, and perform other duties as assigned at the Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center.

Compensation

Compensation for this position is $15.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications (DOQ).

Swim Instructor Hiring Timeline:

Swim Instructors will be thoroughly committed to Miamisburg Parks and Recreation mission. All candidates should have a desire to learn and uphold Aquatic Center policy and curriculum. Instructors should be comfortable talking to patrons and working as a team. Swim Instructors must conduct themselves in a respectful and positive manner to promote the highest quality customer experience possible. Swim Instructors must be able to complete an in-house swimming instructor training program that requires basic proficiency in all skills/levels for which they will teach. Candidates must hold a valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certification throughout the duration of the season.
