Job Title: Territory Sales - Equipment

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Answering customer and product questions before, during, and after the sale
  • Prospecting for new accounts and growing relationships with new and existing customers through a consultative sales approach
  • Providing a great customer experience through your knowledge of our product offerings, service capabilities, and current programs
  • Scheduling appointments to meet with and present products at customers’ work sites or businesses
  • Identifying customer needs and recommending the right products and services
  • Preparing quotes and proposals, and negotiating pricing and terms to close sales
  • Appraising trade-in equipment
  • Conducting on-site equipment demonstrations and providing operator orientation at delivery, including startup, safe operation, and break-in procedures
  • Responding promptly to incoming calls and online leads
  • Entering and updating sales orders
  • Requesting service work to be performed
  • Processing financing for new and used equipment
  • Following up after sales with customers to ensure they are satisfied with their purchase and resolving any potential issues
  • Promoting parts, service, and rental offerings alongside equipment sales
  • Managing your sales pipeline and logging customer activity in the CRM
  • Planning territory coverage to make efficient use of time in the field
  • Meeting or exceeding monthly and annual sales goals
  • Staying current on product lines, competitor offerings, and local market conditions
  • Participating in company events (sales meetings, trade shows, special sales, etc.)
  • Following safety standards and helping maintain a safe work environment in the store and on customer job sites
  • Completing related tasks as assigned

A Little More Insight:

  • This position is based out of our Grand Forks store, with approximately 75% of your time spent traveling to customers throughout the territory.
  • This role will call on a broad range of customers, including contractors, municipalities, agricultural operations, and other commercial and industrial businesses.
  • You’ll need to operate and maintain a company vehicle and any provided technology resources.

Qualifications

  • Proven sales experience; outside or equipment sales preferred
  • Comfortable cold calling, prospecting, and handling rejection
  • Ability to quickly build new relationships with customers
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to customers of all sizes
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities across multiple customers and deals
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software
  • Experience with CRM software preferred
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to explain equipment features and operation
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work a rotating Saturday shift
  • Eligible to drive as an interstate CMV driver (21+ years old and able to obtain a DOT medical card)
  • Previous equipment knowledge or experience (construction, industrial, agricultural, or similar)
  • Prompt and reliable attendance

Physical

Requirements

  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand on a hard surface for extended periods of time
  • Work outdoors at customer job sites in varying weather conditions
  • Look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Bend, sit, squat, push, pull, kneel, and reach
