Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Test Engineer to work onsite in San Diego, CA. This position requires a leader with deep integrated deployment operational expertise and strong technical and systems engineering proficiency, capable of navigating complex, evolving program needs with confidence and precision. Collaborative leadership and diplomatic communication to effectively coordinate among government, military, and contractor stakeholders. Creative problem‑solving is essential, enabling rapid adaptation to emergent challenges and the development of innovative solutions in support of fleet readiness and capability expansion. What you will do:

  • Responsibilities in this role will vary as program objectives shift, but will include supporting government acceptance testing; contributing to Viperfish and Lionfish development; integrating FLS, VCM, and SAS systems; and ensuring seamless alignment with the Naval Family of Systems
  • Will lead release package development, configuration management activities, and participate in OCONUS operational events Additional duties include test event planning, responding to urgent operational needs arising from global conflicts, and generating internal and formal documentation
  • Supports operator training, advanced repair procedure development, and management of fleet replacement parts, ensuring that deployed systems remain fully mission‑capable and continuously improved

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a BS/BA; 3+ years with an MS/MA; 9 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong systems engineering and systems integration experience
  • Experience with integrated deployment, operational testing, and fleet fielding of complex defense systems
  • Experience supporting government acceptance testing, test planning, configuration management, and release package development

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
