Job description

Vice President of Sales & Marketing | Location: Cantonment, FL | On-Site

Partner Plus are working on an exciting executive opportunity with an established specialist manufacturing organisation to appoint a Vice President of Sales & Marketing. This is a highly influential commercial leadership role offering the opportunity to build and develop a high-performing sales team while shaping the company's strategy for sustainable, profitable growth.

Why this role?

This is a genuine opportunity to build something.

You'll have significant autonomy to shape the commercial function, recruit and develop your own sales team and create the structure, culture and strategy needed to accelerate growth. The organisation is looking to build towards a six-person sales team, giving the incoming VP the opportunity to identify, hire, develop and retain talented salespeople.

You'll also have a strong voice in how the business approaches its markets. Sales will work closely with R&D to help direct priorities based on customer and market opportunities, while you'll have oversight of marketing and the ability to influence how the organisation positions itself within its specialist markets.

Key responsibilities

  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing sales organisation
  • Recruit, coach and retain talented sales professionals, creating a strong and sustainable team
  • Drive new business development and significantly improve commercial growth
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy focused on sustainable, profitable growth rather than revenue alone
  • Identify the markets, customers and opportunities capable of delivering the greatest commercial impact
  • Take ownership of key commercial decisions including pricing, profitability and customer strategy
  • Apply strong commercial judgement and critical thinking to both opportunities and challenges
  • Develop existing key accounts while creating a stronger pipeline of new customers
  • Partner closely with R&D to ensure market and customer insight helps influence development priorities
  • Oversee the marketing function and help shape the organisation's positioning, messaging and market presence
  • Represent the business with key customers, prospects and at relevant industry events and trade shows
Ideal background
  • Senior sales, commercial or business development leadership experience within a specialist manufacturing environment
  • A proven track record of building, leading and developing successful sales teams
  • Strong new business development experience with evidence of delivering profitable growth
  • Excellent sales and wider business acumen, with confidence making challenging commercial decisions
  • Strong understanding of pricing, margins, profitability and value-based selling
  • A logical, commercially minded critical thinker who can prioritise opportunities based on their probability of success and potential business impact
  • Experience selling specialist, differentiated and high-value products rather than competing primarily within commodity markets
  • Experience within nonwovens, technical textiles, filtration or related markets would be advantageous, but direct industry experience is not essential
  • Relevant experience from other specialist materials markets, including technical textiles, films, foils or roll goods, would also be of interest
  • A hands-on leadership style with a genuine passion for hiring, coaching and developing great salespeople
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across Sales, Marketing, R&D and Operations
The business operates within highly specialised markets and is therefore particularly interested in candidates who understand how to sell premium, differentiated products where value matters more than simply competing on price. Direct nonwoven experience is not essential; the ability to successfully lead within a specialist, high-value environment is more important.

This is initially an on-site position in Cantonment, Florida, with a relocation package available. Travel will be required to customers and trade shows. The position also offers a performance-related bonus structure directly linked to company profitability, creating meaningful upside as the business grows.

If you're an experienced commercial leader who loves building teams, developing people and creating sustainable profitable growth, we'd be interested in hearing from you. Please apply to explore the opportunity confidentially.
