POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Warehouse Specialist to join our Perishable Operations team. In this role, you will handle the receiving, staging, loading, and distribution of frozen and perishable food products destined for our partner agencies and direct-distribution programs.Because you will be working primarily within our cold-storage facilities, you'll play a critical role in maintaining food safety, freshness, and inventory accuracy-ensuring high-quality food gets to those who need it most.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inbound & Outbound Handling: Safely load, unload, pick, pack, and stage frozen, refrigerated, and fresh food products for partner agency deliveries.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse machinery-including electric pallet jacks/riders, propane/electric forklifts, and cherry pickers-to move and stack materials safely.
  • Quality & Inventory Control: Inspect incoming shipments for quality and compliance. Practice First Expired, First Out (FEFO) inventory control methods.
  • Documentation & Logistics: Complete required receiving/shipping paperwork, label pallets, shrink-wrap orders, and partner with the Freezer Inventory Specialist on cycle counts and replenishment.
  • Warehouse Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with food safety standards and organizational safety protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience operating electric pallet jacks/riders and forklifts (propane and electric). Prior cherry picker experience is strongly preferred.
  • Skills

    Strong basic math skills, attention to detail, and good customer service skills. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Physical

    Requirements

    Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (frequently lift 30 lbs., occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 300 lbs. using a manual pallet jack). Must be comfortable working in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods.
