Ready to Take the Next Step in Your Leadership Career?
Miami Valley Community Action Partnership (MVCAP) is looking for a strong, hands-on Production Manager to help lead the daily operations of our Weatherization & Housing Services production team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced supervisor or manager who knows how to keep people, projects, schedules, and resources moving in the right direction.
While experience in weatherization is valuable, we also encourage candidates with transferable experience in construction, housing rehabilitation, energy efficiency, facilities, field operations, production, project management, or similar environments to apply.
If you are a leader who enjoys solving problems, developing employees, improving processes, and seeing projects through from start to finish, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
As the Production Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Weatherization production department and help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to program requirements.
You will:
- Provide leadership and oversight to supervisory and field staff.
- Coordinate daily production activities, staffing assignments, schedules, materials, and workflow.
- Work closely with field supervisors, warehouse staff, auditors, inspectors, schedulers, and administrative team members.
- Monitor project progress and help ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
- Coach and support employees while promoting accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
- Help resolve scheduling issues, material shortages, customer concerns, and other challenges that may impact production.
- Visit job sites as needed to support staff, monitor work, and assist with problem-solving.
- Monitor productivity, work quality, documentation, inventory, equipment, and vehicle usage.
- Help identify opportunities to improve departmental processes and overall efficiency.
- Support safety practices and ensure employees have the training, tools, and resources needed to perform their work safely.
- Assist with reports, documentation, compliance reviews, and internal or external monitoring.
- Work closely with the Weatherization & Housing Services Director to support departmental and agency goals.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can lead people while also managing the moving pieces behind a busy production operation.
Minimum qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in weatherization, construction, housing rehabilitation, energy efficiency, field operations, or a related area.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and operational needs.
- Ability to coach employees, address performance concerns, and build a productive team environment.
- Comfortable working in both an office and field environment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn agency and program-specific systems.
An associate degree or technical training in construction management, building science, weatherization, energy efficiency, construction trades, or a related field is preferred but not required.
You May Be a Great Fit If You Have Experience In:
Construction or field supervision, production management, project management, housing rehabilitation, facilities or property operations, warehouse and logistics operations, energy efficiency, building trades, or another environment where you have been responsible for people, schedules, quality, safety, and getting the job done.
Direct weatherization experience is helpful, but we recognize that strong leadership and operational skills can come from many different industries.
What Will Help You Succeed
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Leads by example and communicates clearly.
- Can hold employees accountable while also providing coaching and support.
- Is comfortable making decisions and solving problems.
- Understands the importance of safety and quality.
- Can balance field operations with administrative responsibilities.
- Works well with employees, customers, contractors, and community partners.
- Pays attention to details without losing sight of the overall operation.
- Is willing to learn the technical and regulatory requirements of the Weatherization program.
About the Work
Our Weatherization program helps improve the energy efficiency, safety, and comfort of homes within the communities we serve. The Production Manager plays an important role in making that work happen by ensuring our teams have the leadership, coordination, materials, training, and support they need to successfully serve our customers.
Some field work is involved, including occasional visits to job sites and environments such as attics, basements, crawl spaces, and other residential work areas. Occasional travel may also be required based on program and business needs.
If you're ready to bring your leadership and operational experience to a position where the work directly impacts local families and communities, we encourage you to apply.
