Windows Systems Administrator
Job description
We are seeking a collaborative and knowledgeable IT professional to help support and advance enterprise-wide endpoint management technologies and services across a diverse range of systems and devices.
In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of endpoint management solutions. You will contribute to the development of strategic roadmaps for key services and technologies and help guide those services throughout their full lifecycle, from planning and deployment to modernization and retirement.
You will work closely with both IT teams and the scientific user community as a trusted partner, helping identify effective technical solutions and long-term strategies that support mission needs. This position also requires strong communication and relationship-building skills, as you will regularly engage with IT leadership, service desk staff, cybersecurity teams, central IT, and other stakeholders to coordinate technical issues, planned improvements, and service changes.
This role may also serve as a project leader for significant initiatives, helping translate strategic roadmaps into high-quality, forward-looking IT solutions.
Position Requirements
To perform the essential functions of this position successful applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, which is required to comply with federal regulations and contract.
- Bachelors and 2+ years of experience, or equivalent
- Familiarity with Active Directory and SCCM preferred
- Background in the analysis, design, implementation, and support of Windows endpoint management services in an enterprise IT environment
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and software lifecycle management, including deployment, configuration, maintenance, and best practices at scale
- Understanding of systems analysis and design, including troubleshooting complex or integrated systems and services
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and all levels of management
- Capacity to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and evolving technical practices
- Knowledge of networking, virtualization, and automation principles
- Experience with scripting and an understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to work independently
- Willingness to learn and follow Laboratory and Department of Energy policies and procedures

Full timeThe expected hiring range for this position is $69,750.00 - $108,810.00.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs. Additionally, comprehensive benefits are part of the total rewards package.
