Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Junior QA Analyst to join our growing Fintech team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing manual and automated testing activities, identifying defects, validating business requirements, and ensuring the quality of digital payment and financial services products before release.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in manual testing while demonstrating an interest in automation testing. Exposure to Playwright with TypeScript and modern test automation practices will be highly advantageous, as the role provides opportunities to contribute to both manual and automated quality assurance activities.

Key

Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution:

Review and understand business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Create and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test checklists.

Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and API testing.

Validate web and mobile application functionality.

Execute testing activities within sprint timelines and release cycles.

Ensure testing evidence is captured and maintained.

Defect Management

Log defects clearly and accurately using Jira or similar defect management tools.

Reproduce and document defects with detailed evidence and clear reproduction steps.

Retest fixes and verify successful resolution.

Assist in tracking defects through to closure.

Escalate risks and quality concerns where required.

Quality Assurance Activities

Participate in requirement reviews and Agile ceremonies.

Ensure delivered solutions meet business and quality expectations.

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities where required.

Maintain test documentation and execution records.

Assist in creating and maintaining test plans and test suites.

Automation Testing

Support the development and execution of automated test scripts.

Assist in maintaining automation frameworks and test suites.

Learn and apply automation best practices under guidance from senior team members.

Contribute to automation initiatives aimed at improving test coverage and efficiency.

Participate in automation code reviews where applicable.

Collaboration

Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and QA team members.

Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Communicate testing progress, risks, defects, and blockers effectively.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.

Continuous Improvement

Contribute ideas to improve QA processes and testing efficiency.

Continuously develop testing and automation skills.

Stay informed of industry trends, emerging tools, and testing best practices.

Participate in knowledge-sharing activities within the team.

Minimum Requirements

Education

Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent would be advantageous.

Relevant QA certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

1 to 2 years of software testing experience in web, mobile, or API applications.

Experience in a Fintech, Payments, Banking, or E-commerce environment would be advantageous.

Exposure to automated testing is highly desirable.

Experience with Playwright and TypeScript is considered a strong advantage.

Experience executing API tests using Postman or similar tools is advantageous.

Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies is desirable.

Technical Skills

Essential:

Understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

Understanding of software defect management processes.

Experience creating and executing test cases and test scenarios.

Familiarity with Jira or similar test and defect management tools.

Basic SQL knowledge for data validation.

Understanding of web and mobile application testing principles.

Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman.

Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Ability to analyse requirements and identify test conditions.

Advantageous

Exposure to test automation frameworks and automation testing concepts.

Experience developing or maintaining automated test scripts.

Knowledge of Playwright with TypeScript.

Exposure to Selenium, Cypress, Robot Framework, or similar automation tools.

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.

Familiarity with Git version control.

Knowledge of payment systems, banking, fintech products, or e-commerce platforms.

Basic understanding of cloud-based applications and modern software architecture.

Salary Range

Market-related and dependent on experience, qualifications, and technical capability.

Target Level

Junior QA Analyst (1 to 2 years' experience with exposure to manual and/or automation testing).
