Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Clerk, reporting to the Accounts Payable Accountant, is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing all invoices for payment in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Accurately verify, classify, and enter vendor invoices into ComputerEase.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and monthly statements, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Apply knowledge of expense accounts and cost centers to ensure proper coding of transactions.
- Maintain compliance with accounts payable regulations, including W-9 documentation, sales tax requirements, and related policies.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
- Proven ability to accurately calculate, post, and maintain accounting figures and financial records.
- Proficient in data entry with exceptional attention to detail.
- Skilled in using spreadsheets and proprietary accounting software.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
Physical Demands
- Primarily in an office environment.
- Periodic weekend or evening work is possible.
