Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Administrative Assistant to work at a facility in Albany, NY. These are registry positions with our company.
Pay Rate: $17 / hour
Shift details:
Incumbent duties will include:
1. Answering telephones for the Commissioner and the Executive Deputy Commissioner, as well as the published Department central phone number. In the event of a public health crisis, DEA is the first line of response for the Department. This task requires the ability to learn and retain broad-based programmatic information related to all internal offices within the Department, as well as the functions of other State Agencies, with the assistance of reference tools developed by the Division.
2. Data entry/Logging of all executive correspondence, such as mail, e-mail, and web mail, as well as mail assigned for handling to the Department from the Governor's Office, under the supervision of the Deputy Director. This task requires above average language, reading comprehension and typing skills, with a concentration on accuracy.
3. Performing hourly courier runs to the Executive Offices for pick-ups and deliveries, as well as providing ad hoc phone coverage for the Executive office within the Department, this task requires a professional appearance.
4. Other administrative duties, as necessary and requested by the Deputy and Assistance Deputy Directors. Preferred characteristics for the incumbent would include: prior Executive Assistant experience and a record of above average time and attendance. Due to the nature of some of the callers/correspondents that we deal with, we would prefer a candidate who has prior experience handling high-volume phone lines, as well as potentially aggressive or contentious callers. About the Division of External Affairs: It is though DEA's ability to handle a heavy workload that the Department can respond in a timely and effective manner to the public, elected officials and all those seeking the Department's assistance. DEA is the liaison for the Department to the Governor's Correspondence Office. DEA is staffed every working day that the Department is open, 8: 30am to 5pm, and provides backup coverage for the Commissioner, Executive Deputy Commissioner and other OGEA divisions. The award will be made to the vendor(s) who provide the best overall value based on a combination of price and the qualifications of the candidate.
