The Division of Children and Family Services (CFS) is hiring a dedicated Administrative Technician to join our Protection and Safety Administrative Team in Omaha.
This position provides critical administrative support to the Service Area Administrator and helps ensure smooth daily operations that directly impact Nebraska communities.

What you will do:
- Expense Tracking & Financial Support: Process bill payments and track expenditures using OnBase and state-issued purchase cards
- Travel Coordination: Arrange in-state and out-of-state travel for Case Managers across the service area
- Meeting & Event Support: Prepare agendas, take minutes, and manage Outlook reminders for evaluations and probation dates
- Interview & Onboarding Assistance: Schedule interviews with HR, prepare documentation, and ensure new hires have the tools they need
- Employee Separation Support: Assist with transitions, resignations, and terminations
- General Office Support: Manage supplies, report IT issues, oversee ID badge creation, and support front desk operations
- Front Desk Coverage: Greet and assist visitors and clients, ensuring smooth interactions across all divisions
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Administrative Experience 2+ years providing complex administrative or program support in a government or nonprofit setting.
- Computer Proficiency - Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Data Management & Reporting - Proficient in compiling data into reports, charts, or dashboards using Excel or similar tools.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of office procedures, file management, and customer service principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for creating charts and reports
- Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for process improvement
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail
