Admissions Coordinator to join our team and help guide individuals through the intake process with dignity and respect.
Position Summary:
The Admissions Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking services. This role is responsible for coordinating the intake and admissions process, ensuring a smooth transition for clients from initial contact to program enrollment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to inquiries from prospective clients, families, and referral sources via phone, email, and walk-ins.
- Complete pre-screening and intake assessments.
- Schedule clinical assessments and coordinate with therapists, case managers, and program staff.
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations when required.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative teams regarding client admissions.
- Follow up on pending referrals and ensure all necessary documentation is received.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in behavioral health, medical, or social service setting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and intake procedures is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHR systems (e.g., Alleva, KIPU).
