Animal Care Supervisor – Pet Boarding & Doggy Daycare Facility

As an Animal Care Supervisor, you’ll help oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and fun environment for our four-legged guests and a supportive, collaborative environment for our team. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support daily pet care operations, including feeding, cleaning, administering medications (including insulin), administering vaccinations, and monitoring pet health and behavior
- Lead and oversee dog playgroups to ensure safety, proper behavior management, and enrichment
- Ensure cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and facility grounds to meet health and safety standards
- Train, mentor, and support staff in daily tasks, safety protocols, and best practice
- Provide excellent customer service and confidently communicate with pet parents regarding pet behavior, care, and facility policies
- Fill in for our Receptionist role as needed including checking pets in/out, answering phones, handling money transactions, etc.
- Collaborate with Leads, fellow Supervisors, General Manager, and Owner to maintain smooth day-to-day operations
- Step into hands-on roles as needed (including cleaning, feeding, and playgroup supervision)
- Lead the day-to-day schedule by delegating tasks, assigning dogs and staff to appropriate playgroups, ensuring tasks are completed on time, and adjusting the schedule as needed
- Help resolve conflicts and troubleshoot problems calmly and efficiently, always maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
- Maintain accurate documentation for feeding, medications, behavior, and incidents
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior leadership experience in a pet care facility (doggy daycare, boarding, vet clinic, animal shelter, etc.) is highly desirable
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Clear, compassionate communication skills with both team members and clients
- High level of reliability, integrity, and accountability
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing situations
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and be active throughout an entire shift
- Willingness to get your hands dirty and lead by example
- Flexible availability – must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to work shifts starting as early as 6:30 AM and ending as late as 6:30pm (peak times including summertime and holidays may result in later shifts ending as late as 9pm)
- Must be available to work Mondays-Wednesdays during your training period (approximately two months from your start date) and understand that your permanent schedule may include different work days of the week after your initial training shifts
- Must be at least 18 years or older to apply for this position and have reliable transportation
