Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for providing safe and enjoyable walks for our clients' dogs, ensuring their well-being and happiness while under your care. This position requires a strong understanding of animal behavior and handling, as well as a commitment to providing excellent service to both pets and their owners.
Duties
- Walk dogs of various sizes and temperaments in different environments, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Monitor the behavior and health of dogs during walks, reporting any concerns to the pet owner.
- Maintain control of dogs using appropriate handling techniques to prevent accidents or escapes.
- Provide basic care for the dogs, including feeding, watering, and administering medication if necessary.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and any issues that may arise during walks.
- Follow specific instructions from pet owners regarding routes, duration of walks, and any special needs of the dog.
- Keep accurate records of each walk, including time spent and any notable observations about the dog’s behavior or health.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred; experience as a veterinary assistant, kennel worker, or pet sitter is a plus.
- Strong understanding of dog behavior and training techniques; knowledge of animal restraint methods is beneficial.
- Ability to handle multiple dogs at once while maintaining control and ensuring safety.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners professionally.
- Physical stamina to walk dogs for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while following instructions closely.
