Position Overview
Cafe Perk is seeking a dedicated, experienced Assistant Manager to support day-to-day operations, lead our team, and help create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic leader with a passion for coffee and customer service, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the skills to support our small, hardworking team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the cafe manager in recruiting, training, and mentoring team members to deliver exceptional service.
- Assist with daily opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory
- management. Ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, maintaining our high standards of quality and cleanliness.
- Engage with guests to create a friendly, welcoming environment and address customer concerns with professionalism.
- Ensure that food, coffee, and other products are prepared to standard, paying attention to quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Help create staff schedules that balance operational needs with individual availability. Step in to cover shifts as needed.
- Assist with special events, promotions, and seasonal offerings, such as our holiday pie sales, brunch service, and paint-and-sip nights.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or assistant management role, preferably in a coffee shop, cafe, or restaurant setting.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a knack for problem-solving andmultitasking.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with espresso-based drinks, food service best practices, and inventory management.
- Attributes: Enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused with a team-oriented mindset.
- Minimum 1 year baking experience
