Your Opportunity
As our Assistant Controller you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
This positive will work at our corporate office in Brookfield, Wisconsin while training. Once settled into the role, a hybrid option is available.
Responsibilities
- Prepare SMS equipment sales invoicing, follow up with collection calls, and report details.
- Analyze various balance sheets and account income statements to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Review and reconcile monthly revenue recognition.
- Prepare and process sales tax reporting for multiple states (approximately 20 states).
- Enter/Post Siemens cash receipts
- Manually update employee commissions for various thresholds.
- Prepare and enter adjusting journal entries for the month end reconciliation.
- Process fiscal year end personal use adjustment for fleet vehicles as part of fringe benefit calculation.
- Collaborate with Surgery Operations Manager on quarterly surgical demo reconciliation.
- Lead annual review by CPA firm.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and private industry roles.
- Proficiency in accounting systems such as Microsoft 365 Business Central, Concur, SAP. Experience with Great Plains preferred.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx.
- Understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, and financial modeling.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with audit preparation, tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and financial tools.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with departments like Operations, HR, and Sales.
