Salary Range: $38,525 to $43,800

The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, this position is responsible for coordinating the management and supervision of assigned Intercollegiate Athletic Facilities, events and operations. This position will coordinate student workers who directly support athletic facilities, events, and operations. This position may be the primary contact person in managing the locker rental program, memberships. fitness course and instructor management as well as advancing future course offerings. The Assistant Director will assist the Director with facility maintenance, SOP, EAP’s and capital projects for athletic facilities and work cooperatively with the physical plant, public safety, and other campus support units successfully operate athletic facilities on the St. Paul campus. Additional specific duties to include; event management aspects for assigned sports including visiting team guides, referee coordination, Perry monitoring, set up and tear down oversight, and programming and outside event rentals including opportunities to promote revenue generation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Program and manage assigned athletic facility spaces on the Universities 25 pro software, card access and liaison with public safety for security. Proactively plan, communicate and monitor home event schedules, practices, meeting spaces as well as maintenance schedules to ensure efficient operations. Assist club sports with programming activities on athletic facilities through the campus club sports office.
  • Identify workers, inventory and manage fitness center spaces and memberships, instructors and program offerings, analyze rate structure and locker rental program.
  • Manage events and operations logistics, expenses, credentials, visiting team guides, parking and set up/tear down, Perry weather and after-action meetings of assigned varsity sports. Serve as the postseason contact for assigned sports as necessary. Assist with campus coordination efforts for assigned varsity sports to ensure a successful execution. Assist with home football game operations.
  • Assist the Director of Athletic Events and Operations with capital projects, maintenance, and development of EAP’s and SOP’s.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration
  • Two years of relevant work experience in athletics or an athletics-related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
